Method and system for designing a business domain model, a Data Warehouse (DW) model and a mapping therebetween synchronously are provided. The method includes: designing a business domain model based on business logic; designing a DW model based on a structure of a data cube in a DW and designing a mapping between the business domain model and the DW model synchronously; analyzing the business domain model, the DW model and the mapping therebetween based on a predetermined syntax rule; and generating a transactional database corresponding to the business domain model, a DW database corresponding to the DW model, and a mapping between data in the transactional database and in the DW database automatically and synchronously. The system includes a business domain model design unit, a DW model design unit, a mapping design unit, an analysis unit and an automatic generation unit. Mappings are designed more easily, efficiently and accurately.

Described herein is a technology for facilitating process driven business intelligence. In one implementation, context data generated by a business process tool is received. One or more relevant application programming interfaces (APIs) are identified by matching the APIs with the current attribute associated with the context data. The APIs are executable by a processor to retrieve source data from an information source and provide business intelligence based on the source data.

Various embodiments of systems and methods for providing a set of placement options to a user when a new report object is requested to be placed in an area of the report are described herein. One or more existing report objects are associated with the area of the report. The set of placement options are determined based on at least one of the following: area type of the area in which the new report object is requested to be placed and a semantic relationship between the new report object and the one or more existing report objects. In one embodiment, the area of the report includes a sub-area. The set of placement options for a sub-area is determined based on the semantic relationship of new report objects and the existing report objects associated with the area and the sub-area.

An example system to process unstructured data comprises a receiver to access a source of unstructured data, an entity extractor to extract entity instances from the source of unstructured data and organize the extracted entity instances into an entity instance table, a pattern generator to generate a pattern comprising a key entity and one or more non-key entities associated with the key entity based on the entity instance table, and a dataset generator to generate a two-dimensional table based on the pattern and the entity instance table.

Method and system to process unstructured data

Described herein is a technology for visualizing data. In accordance with some implementations, dimension metadata is automatically extracted from multiple documents. The extracted dimension metadata may be used to populate one or more relation dimensions. Based on the dimension metadata, one or more relations between the documents are determined along the one or more relation dimensions. A relation graph is presented to represent the documents interconnected by the one or more relations.

An abstract query is received for querying data sources for a combined hierarchical dimension having at least one hierarchy. The abstract query is mapped into data source specific queries by generating context expressions according to the at least one hierarchy. The data source specific queries are executed in an order according to the at least one hierarchy to produce value results for the combined hierarchical dimension.
