A device for joining a first component A and a second component B while leaving a joining gap SP includes a boltand a compensating coilfor compensating tolerances of the joining gap. A louver for selectively closing flow openings defined therethrough comprising a stationary support grid including a plurality of equidistantly spaced, first rods extending in a first direction to define flow openings therebetween, a movable grid including a plurality of spaced, second rods extending parallel to the first rods and being movable relative to the first rods in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction from a first position in which each of the second rods at least partially overlaps a respective one of the first rods to a second position spaced from said first position by a distance approximately equal to the equidistant spacing between said first rods and a plurality of substantially impermeable, flexible, flat structures each having first and second longitudinal edges and each of which is connected along the entire length of its first edge to one of the first rods and along the entire length of its second edge to a respective second rod that at least partially overlaps said one first rod in the first position. The flat structures have a width that is at least as wide as the width of the equidistant spacing whereby when the second rods are moved to the second position the flat structures close the flow openings.

A rear facing vehicle back seat includes back section (2) supported by a U frame (4), having two limbs (4a) which extend along opposite sides of the seat section (1) and the back section (2), the bottom ends of these limbs being mounted in pivot bearings (5) on the side walls of a floor cavity (6) which accommodates the seat when out-of-use. The seat section (1) is also pivoted on the same bearings (5). In the operative position, into which the entire vehicle back seat can be shifted in one movement, the space underneath the seat can be used as a storage space, or the greater part of the whole length of the cavity can be fully utilized as a loading space for bulky articles after the seat section has been folded up.

A valve controlled stroke piston combustion engine is provided with a cam shaft which supports a number of cams equal in number to the inlet and outlet valves. The individual cylinders are switched off by closing the associated inlet and outlet valves. The cams are associated with the valves and are rotatably mounted and axially non-displaceable on the cam shaft. Dogs are fixedly mounted on said cam shaft and cooperate with said cams. Each cam is provided with a front face having a concentric annular section groove with a continuously increasing depth with respect to the rotating axis of the cam shaft. The annular section groove ends have a radial abutment face; and each dog is provided with an axial protrusion on a front face facing the corresponding cam with the protrusion engaging on the abutment face during a switched on valve. Pretensionable springs are provided for the engagement and disengagement of dogs.

This invention relates to switching apparatus for mechanical remote control of the gear box of the motor vehicle. A gear lever 1 is connected to one end of a gear selector rod 4 such that movement of the gear lever can cause axial or rotary movement of the rod. A two arm intermediate link 5 is connected to the other end of rod 4 for movement therewith. One arm is operatively connected to main gear shaft 13 by a link (10, 11 and 12) while the other arm is operatively connected to main gear shaft 13 by a link (6, 15, 16-19, 22, 24, 25, 30 and 31). The first mentioned link converts the rotary movement of rod 4 into longitudinal movement of shaft 13, while the second link converts axial movement of rod 4 into rotary movement of shaft 13. The two links are so arranged so as to take up or absorb vibrational or other movement transmitted from the gear box so as to reduce or avoid vibration of gear lever 1.

A rotary combustion engine of trochoid design. The engine includes a housing composed of a jacket having a multicurved inner jacket face and two parallel side walls and a substantially horizontally disposed eccentric shaft which extends through circular apertures in the side walls. A liquid cooled piston is rotatably mounted on the eccentric. Oil control rings are mounted on the piston end walls which coact with the side faces of the side wall. A disk is provided in at least one piston end wall with a hub which rotates with the eccentric shaft concentrically with respect to the rotational axis of the piston and extends into the aperture of the side wall. The disk and the hub are provided with sealing rings in tight sealing engagement with the piston end wall and the wall of the aperture, respectively. The sealing rings encompass an annular chamber which is limited radially outwardly by the oil control ring. A groove is provided in the lower range of the wall of the aperture which receives the hub of the disk. This groove is coupled at its lowermost point with a return line by means of a bore.

A device for controlling the lubricating oil temperature of a combustion engine having an oil container for the oil supply of the lubricating oil cycle of the combustion engine and an oil catch basin provided for receiving the return flow of the oil. The catch basin has a smaller volume than the oil container and communicates with the oil container by means of a thermostatically controlled valve. An oil pump communicates with the oil container and/or with the oil catch basin depending upon the position of the valve. A suction device is located at an intermediate chamber at the lowest point of the oil catch basin and communicates with the oil catch basin at low temperature by means of the thermostatically controlled valve positioned in the intermediate chamber and communicates with the oil container during operating temperature. The oil catch basin communicates with the oil container by at least one overflow opening and the oil catch basin communicates with the oil container by means of a float valve provided in the oil catch basin and which opens when the oil supply drops off.

A rotary-piston machine, in particular a rotary-piston combustion engine of trochoid type is provided. The machine includes a housing composed of at least one shell and at least two parallel end pieces and is traversed perpendicular to the end pieces by an eccentric shaft mounted in the end pieces. A liquid-cooled polygonal piston is rotatably mounted on the eccentric of the shaft. The piston contains cavities provided with at least one aperture near their radially inner portion. The eccentric shaft has an axial bore traversed by the liquid and communicating by way of transverse holes with the bearing and with at least one nozzle. The orifice of the nozzle is directed at the aperture of the piston cavities. Controls are arranged in the axial bore of the eccentric shaft for controlling the communication between the axial bore and the nozzle according to the engine load and/or the temperature of the liquid.

The improved system for liquid cooling of a rotor of a rotary piston mechanism applies to those types having two housing walls spaced apart by a trochoidal shaped peripheral wall to define a multi-lobed cavity within which a multi-cornered rotor is eccentrically supported for planetary movement, and in which the rotor has a hub portion and peripheral wall portions defining therebetween cooling spaces which communicate with the area exteriorly of the rotor through an opening adjacent each end of the hub portion. The improved rotor cooling system comprises a cooling liquid discharge nozzle disposed in at least one of the housing walls and connecting the discharge nozzle to a source of pressurized cooling liquid. The discharge nozzle is positioned so as to direct emitted cooling liquid into the adjacent rotor opening and the cooling spaces in the rotor. In a narrower aspect of the invention a regulator and valve assembly is provided to control flow of cooling liquid to the discharge nozzle in accordance with the pressure conditions of the cooling liquid and temperature and load operating conditions of the engine.
