A stationary blade for a blade set of a hair cutting appliance is arranged to be moved through hair in a moving direction to cut hair. The stationary blade includes: a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion; and at least one toothed leading edge comprising a plurality of teeth and being jointly provided by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The first wall portion and the second wall portion are connected at a frontal end of the at least one toothed leading edge to provide tips of the teeth. A blade set including the stationary blade and a moveable cutting blade are also arranged to cut hair. A method of fabricating a blade set is also described.

Blade set, hair cutting appliance, and related manufacturing method

A hair cutting appliance, a blade set for a hair cutting appliance, and to a stationary blade for the blade set. The stationary blade includes a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation, a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion, such that the first wall portion and the second wall portion define therebetween a guide slot arranged to receive a movable cutter blade in a defined mating manner, and at least one toothed leading edge having a plurality of teeth jointly formed by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The stationary blade is an integrally formed metal-plastic composite stationary blade. Also discussed is a blade set including an integrated foil shaving region, along with a method for manufacturing a respective blade.

A personal care device is provided with a cutting unit comprising an external cutting member and an internal cutting member. A virtual skin plane is located on a side of the external cutting member facing away from the internal cutting member. The internal cutting member comprises cutting elements each having a first cutting edge. The external cutting member comprises hair-entry apertures each having a second cutting edge. In a starting position of cutting a hair situated in a cutting position in the hair-entry aperture and extending perpendicularly to the virtual skin plane, the first cutting edge is in contact with the hair in a first contact position, and the second cutting edge is in contact with the hair in a second contact position, wherein the first contact position is closer to the virtual skin plane than the second contact position.

Personal care device as well as a cutting unit for such a personal care device

A shaving unit includes a cap having an annular shaving track defining an axis. The shaving track is provided with hair entry apertures which have a V-shaped forward edge with a point directed in a cutting direction. Further, a rotary cutter has a plurality of cutter blades, where the rotary cutter is configured to rotate about the axis such that the cutter blades follow the shaving track in the cutting direction to cut hairs protruding through the hair entry apertures. The cutter blades have a V-shaped cutting edge, where a point of the V-shaped cutting edge is directed opposite to the direction of rotation of the rotary cutter.
