A wired switch allows switching the power supplied to a wirelessly controllable appliance, such as a lamp, which may be controlled by e.g. a smart phone running an app. A wireless switch is retrofitted to the wired switch. The wireless switch comprises one or more sensors arranged to detect both the position of the wired switch and a touch input. A controller, receiving indications based on said detection, determines a reachability of the wirelessly controllable appliance. The controller then associates an OFF command to the area of the wired switch that would normally be pressed to turn the lamp off. This allows the lamp to be turned OFF, when the wired switch is in the ON position, by a user controlling the wired switch as (s)he normally would without the used needing to actually change the position of the wired switch (thereby turning OFF power to the appliance).

Wireless switch

A lighting control system () includes a first adapter () configured to be operationally coupled to a first light source () to provide a first power level, and a second adapter () configured to be operationally coupled to a second light source () to provide a second power level. A controller () is configured to control the first adapter () to change the first power level to a current power level. The first adapter () is further configured to detect the changed or current (absolute or relative) power level so that the second adapter () is controlled, e.g., by first adapter (), based on the detected current power level.

System for controlling light sources

Apparatus and method for commissioning a wireless communication link between a remote controller device () that transmits a signal and a remote controlled device () that receives the signal include a first button () that is recessed within the housing of the remote controller () that can be pressed to cause the remote controller () to transmit a commissioning signal. A second button () that is recessed within the housing of the remote controlled device () can be pressed to cause the remote controlled device () to receive and learn the commissioning. The remote controller () and the remote controlled device () have complementary mating structures carried thereon that will simultaneously operate the first and second buttons when the remote controller () and the remote controlled device () are physically mated with another.

Method and device for commissioning a remote controller

A lighting system includes a light source and a switch configured to receive input power and provide switched power. A control module is configured to receive the switched power and control the light source. The control module is further configured to provide the switched power to the light source in response to toggling the switch more than once within a predetermined time period.

The invention relates to a lamp assembly () for illuminating a surface (S) comprising a chamber () accommodating a plurality of light-emitting diodes (R,G,B) capable of emitting visible light. The lamp assembly comprises diffusing means () capable of diffusing said visible light of said light-emitting diodes to produce diffuse light (D), and said chamber further accommodates collimation means () arranged to collimate at least a portion of said diffused light for illuminating said surface. The lamp assembly is especially suitable for ambiance and atmosphere lighting applications.
