An apparatus for estimating a malignant tumor includes: a segmentor configured to segment a first medical image of an object into a first ROI including a mass and a second medical image of the object into a second ROI including a mass; an interest region determiner configured to acquire a first matched ROI and a second matched ROI, which is matched to the first matched ROI based on location information of the first ROI and the second ROI, respectively; a feature extractor configured to extract a similar feature indicating a degree of similarity between the first matched ROI and the second matched ROI, from the first matched ROI and the second matched ROI; and a classifier configured to generate malignant tumor information indicating whether the mass included in the first matched ROI and the second matched ROI is the malignant tumor, based on the extracted similar feature.

A method of displaying a virtual ruler on separate images of an object includes: dividing the object into imaging areas in a predetermined direction and obtaining the separate images corresponding to the imaging areas; obtaining a first distance value for each respective separate image, as a distance from a reference point to a first side of the respective separate image, and a second distance value for each respective separate image, as a distance from the reference point to a second side of the respective separate image, the first side being opposite to the second side along the predetermined direction; and displaying the virtual ruler, which indicates distance values between the first distance value and the second distance value of each respective separate image, on each of the respective separate images.

A localization method of a moving robot is disclosed in which the moving robot includes: capturing a first omni-directional image by the moving robot; confirming at least one node at which a second omni-directional image having a high correlation with the first omni-directional image is captured; and determining that the moving robot is located at the first node when the moving robot reaches a first node, at which a second omni-directional image having a highest correlation with the first omni-directional image is captured, from among the at least one node.

A method to determine the location of a robot using an omni-directional image, the method including acquiring an omni-directional image from a robot, extracting a predetermined current line from the acquired omni-directional image, calculating a correlation coefficient between the extracted current line of the robot and each landmark line of pre-stored nodes using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and performing a stochastic approach method of a particle filtering process on a basis of the calculated correlation coefficient to recognize a location of the robot.
