A battery pack including at least one battery cell, a protective circuit module on a side of the at least one battery cell, and a case including the protective circuit module and the at least one battery cell. The protective circuit module includes a battery management system, an inverter, and an output terminal to supply power for driving a motor.

Battery pack

A battery pack including a battery, a sensor, a controller, and a self-discharge circuit. The battery includes at least one battery cell connected between a pair of external terminals. The at least one battery cell is used for an engine-start attempt. The sensor detects a temperature of the battery. The controller compares the temperature of the battery with a reference temperature value and outputs a self-discharge signal when the temperature of the battery is lower than the reference temperature value. The self-discharge circuit is connected between the pair of external terminals in parallel with the battery and performs self-discharge the battery based on the self-discharge signal.

Secondary battery

A battery pack including a reinforcement plate having a metal layer and a heat sealing layer, wherein the reinforcement plate is attached to a battery cell to reinforce the battery cell, thus improving reliability regarding product quality. The battery pack includes a battery cell, a circuit module electrically connected to the battery cell, a top cover installed on an upper portion of the battery cell, and a reinforcement plate attached to the battery cell.

The present invention relates to a secondary battery, and in particular relating to a secondary battery in which connection between the bare cell and the protection circuit can be established by a mechanical connection system without using molding method. A pouch type battery, including a pouch type bare cell having a terrace and having an electrode tab adjacent to the terrace, the terrace being an empty space defined where a sealing area of the electrode tab is not bent, the sealing area positioned in a direction in which the electrode tab extends, a protective circuit board electrically connected to the electrode tab, the protective circuit board positioned in the terrace and including a protection circuit, an upper case supporting the protective circuit board and encasing an upper portion of the bare cell, and a first barrier protruding downwardly from the upper case and electrically separating the protective circuit board from the electrode tab.

Pouch type battery

An external case for secondary batteries, and a secondary battery using the external case, in which the covering surfaces for the lower surface and side surfaces of a pouch type core pack are joined to prevent unfolding due to the resilience of the material. The external case includes: a base covering the lower surface of the pouch type cell, a pair of sidewalls joined to two opposing longer edges of the base to respectively form single linear boundaries, and covering two broad side surfaces of the pouch type cell, and skirts extending from two longer edges of each of the sidewalls, and covering two narrow side surfaces of the pouch type cell. The base, sidewalls, and skirts are all formed of a metallic material.
