A see-through display device includes an image generator configured to emit image light, a combiner which is arranged off-axis with respect to the image light and is configured to generate an off-axis aberration with respect to the image light, and a free-form optical element which is disposed on an optical path of the image light between the image generator and the combiner and is configured to generate a correction aberration with respect to the image light, the correction aberration being opposite to the off-axis aberration.

Provided is a display apparatus including a combiner having asymmetric magnification. The display apparatus may include: an image forming device configured to form a virtual image; and a combiner configured to mix the virtual image with light containing an outside landscape and provide a viewer with the virtual image and the light that are mixed with each other, wherein the combiner may include a curved surface that varies a size of the virtual image with a first magnification in a first direction and a second magnification in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the second magnification being less than the first magnification.

An anamorphic optical system and a display apparatus including the same are disclosed. The anamorphic optical system includes an illumination system having astigmatism, and first and second correction lenses that are provided to have tangential power and sagittal power respectively and correct the astigmatism in the illumination system. The first and second correction lenses are provided in which a difference between a distance from the first correction lens to a tangential image formed by the first correction lens and a distance from the second correction lens to a sagittal image formed by the second correction lens corresponds to a distance between the first correction lens and the second correction lenses, and at least one of the first correction lens and the second correction lens has an asymmetric stop to form the tangential image and the sagittal image on the same surface.
