A method for generating a music playlist includes: classifying a plurality of songs into first songs and second songs, the first songs being sample songs with mood vectors, and the second songs being new songs with no mood vectors; comparing physical attributes of the first songs to physical attributes of each second song; determining which first song of the first songs has physical attributes most similar to the physical attributes of each second song; assigning the mood vector of the determined first song having the most similar physical attributes to each second song; and generating a music playlist containing songs, all with mood vectors, by combining the second songs with mood vectors assigned thereto and the first songs.

A method for selecting items using a touchscreen includes displaying a plurality of items as icons on the touchscreen, receiving a touch signal including information on a touch point on the touchscreen, and determining one or more selected items from among the plurality of items upon reception of the touch signal. A method and system for informing fuel efficient driving are provided. The method includes collecting, by a controller, vehicle context data that includes fuel consumption per second and calculating a fuel efficiency influencing factor that includes a driving time after starting an engine based on the vehicle context data. The fuel efficiency influencing factor is stored in a database and a driving propensity of a driver is analyzed based on the data stored in the database. Further, fuel efficiency analysis data that includes a fuel efficient driving index is produced a fuel efficiency analysis result based on the fuel efficiency analysis data is displayed.

Methods and apparatus are provided for distributed rule processing in a sense and respond system. A method for identifying a candidate set of rules is disclosed, comprising the steps of: identifying one or more rules that receive information from one or more sensors to create a first candidate set of rules; evaluating each of the identified rules to identify an initial candidate set of rules, wherein a rule is added to the initial candidate set if a selected device is associated with sensors that are enabled to produce information for the rule being evaluated, if the selected device is enabled to locally provide input information required by the rule being evaluated, and if the rule being evaluated is associated with a group of devices and there are no correlation operators that consume events generated from other devices in the group of devices; and evaluating each rule in the initial candidate set to identify a final candidate set of rules, wherein any rule that receives information from the rule being evaluated is added to the initial candidate set to create the final candidate set if the selected device is enabled to locally satisfy input information required by the rule that receives information and if the rule that receives information is associated with a group of devices and there are no correlation operators that consume events generated from other devices in the group of devices.
