An image sensor includes a pixel array including a plurality of normal pixels, a plurality of phase detection groups, and a color filter array. Each phase detection group includes a first phase detection pixel and a second phase detection pixel disposed adjacent to the first phase detection pixel. The color filter array includes a plurality of unit groups. Each unit group includes a plurality of color filters of a same color arranged in an M×N matrix on the pixel array, wherein M and N are natural numbers. A first color filter among the color filters of a first color is disposed on the first phase detection pixel of one of the unit groups and a second color filter among the color filters of a second color different from the first color is disposed on the second phase detection pixel of another one of the unit groups.

An image signal processor is provided. The image signal processor includes a white balancing block which performs white balancing on a raw RGB image of a Bayer pattern received from an image sensor on a kernel basis or in a kernel unit, a green generation block which performs cross-binning on white-balanced G pixel to generate a first green pixel, and adds a high-frequency component to which a preset weight is applied to generate a binned green pixel, a red-blue generation block which generates a U pixel and a V pixel indicating directionality, on the basis of the binned green pixel, a white-balanced R pixel, and a white-balanced B pixel, and merges the binned green pixel to each of the U pixel and the V pixel to generate a binned red pixel and a binned blue pixel and an inverse white balancing block which performs an inverse white balancing on the binned red pixel, the binned green pixel, and the binned blue pixel to output a final binning image.

An electronic device includes a lens part that receives light from a subject, an image sensor that receives the light of the lens part from a group of pixels arranged two-dimensionally, and an processor that processes an image signal of the image sensor. The image sensor performs a read-out operation at a speed to prevent blurring of an image. The processor temporarily stores image data by the read-out operation in a memory, loads a plurality of images stored in the memory to generate an image, of which the number of bits is expanded compared with the image signal of the image sensor, and performs gamma processing on the image, of which the number of bits is expanded, to generate an image compressed to the same number of bits as the image signal of the image sensor.

Method for processing image and electronic device supporting the same

Image sensors include an array of image sensor pixels therein. This array of image sensor pixels includes a first focus detection pixel and at least a first color pixel. A switching network is provided, which is electrically coupled to the array. This switching network may be configured to generate a first mixed image signal by electronically mixing a focus detection signal generated by the first focus detection pixel with at least one color pixel signal generated by the at least a first color pixel. The first focus detection pixel can be a color-blind pixel, which may include a light-blocking shield mask therein.
