An automatic teller machine (ATM) including a medium receiving portion to receive a paper medium, a medium transfer portion to transfer the paper medium received through the medium receiving portion to a cassette as a storage space, and a medium alignment portion disposed on a transfer path of the medium transfer portion to align the paper medium. The medium alignment portion includes a drum-type alignment body including a transfer path connected to the transfer path of the medium transfer portion so that the paper medium passes through the transfer path in a rotating manner, and including an alignment reference surface to align the paper medium; driving rollers disposed in the alignment body to drive the paper medium forward along the transfer path; and inclined rollers disposed outside of the alignment body corresponding to the driving rollers, and selectively inclined from a transfer direction of the paper medium.

The check deposit apparatus of the present invention comprises an insertion part that is used to insert a check from outside for deposit, a feed part furnished with a feed roller that feeds the placed check along a feed path, an alignment part furnished with an alignment roller that feeds the check fed from the feed part to one side of the feed path and also aligns it, a check reading part that reads information of the check that has been aligned by the alignment part, first and second sensor groups that judge whether the check inserted into the insertion part has a specification that enables it to be fed and processed toward the alignment part normally, a third sensor group that judges whether the check aligned in the alignment part has a specification that enables it to be read and processed normally in the check reading part, and a control part that judges whether to deposit or return the check in question based on the information sensed by the first and second group or third sensor group. According to the invention, a check that has been erroneously placed or does not meet specifications may be readily returned to the user.

An apparatus for pulling a paper medium, e.g., a bill or a check in a bundle bill and check acceptor includes a transfer roller unit transferring the paper medium that is vertically introduced into a storage cassette, a transfer belt unit provided to be rotated so that the paper medium that has passed through the transfer roller unit is horizontally transferred to a rear of the storage cassette, and a clamping roller unit having first and second elastic clamps. Each of the clamps is configured to clamp and pull the front end of the paper medium, and release the paper medium at the rear of the storage cassette depending on rotation of the transfer belt unit, so that the paper medium is stacked in the storage cassette.

Apparatus for pulling bills and checks in bundle bill and check acceptor

A bundle bill/check acceptor includes a bundle receiving module to receive a bundle of bills/checks. The bundle of bills/checks is separated on a leaf-by-leaf basis by a transfer module. The accepter further includes an alignment module to align the individual bill/check, an escrow module to escrow a plurality of bills/checks, and a reject module to discharge a rejected bill/check or a bill/check escrowed by the escrow module requested to cancel the deposit thereof to the bundle receiving module. The separated banknotes are automatically transferred one by one and verified to check authenticity or abnormality thereof.
