A display device having switchable viewing angle includes a display panel including a first emission area, a second emission area, a third emission area and a fourth emission area, from which light in different wavelength bands is emitted, and a transparent photochromic layer disposed on at least one surface of the display panel, wherein each of the first emission area, the second emission area and the third emission area emits light in a wavelength band of visible light, the fourth emission area emits light in a wavelength band of ultraviolet ray, and when the fourth emission area is in an emission state, an area of the photochromic layer including the area corresponding to the fourth emission area is an opaque area, and wherein when the fourth emission area is in a non-emission state, an area of the photochromic layer including the area corresponding to the fourth emission area is a transparent region, thereby providing a display device capable of switching viewing angles.

Penetration of moisture and propagation of cracks is prevented in a polarizer. An adhesive is provided to cover one or more edges of the polarizer to seal the side section of the polarizer. The adhesive fills initial cracks to prevent the initial crack from being propagated to the inside of the polarizer. A protective film and the adhesive include a material having a hydrophobic characteristic. In a method of fabricating a polarizer, a polarizing film is shaped to form a polarizing layer, and a protective film is then attached by applying an adhesive onto the edges of the polarizing layer. Then, the adhesive is cured, and the protective film having the polarizing layer attached is processed, thereby dividing the protective film into a plurality of polarizers. The adhesive can firmly fix the crack since the adhesive is fills in cracks in the polarizing layer.

A polarizing plate and a display device including the same of the present disclosure absorb and disperse an external impact by laminating thin films having different strengths. As described above, according to the present disclosure, instead of a thick cover window, a thin film is used so that thin thickness, light weight, and low cost of the polarizing plate may be achieved. Further, the manufacturing process is simplified and the processing cost is reduced.

A display device according to the present disclosure may be provided with a light path conversion protrusion on a lower surface of a cover window to suppress external light even for light incident at a side viewing angle, thereby improving contrast and visibility. According to the present disclosure, side-view angle incident light may be converted into the same incident light as that of vertical incident light, thereby providing an effect capable of preventing the reflection of incident light from a viewing angle as well as the vertical incident light.
