A system for centralized captioned telephone service ('C-CTS'), which includes a C-CTS system (“C-CTSS”) for providing a transcription service to a user subscribed to the C-CTS during a phone call with a peer; a mobile communications device of the user which includes a first phone number assigned from a carrier of the user; a communications device of the peer which includes a second phone number; and a plurality of caption providers that communicate with the C-CTSS. The first phone number is associated with the C-CTSS and each of the caption providers provides a captioned telephone service. A carrier of the first phone number includes a voice network, a data network, and a database that stores the first phone number of the user which is subscribed to the C-CTS. The C-CTSS includes a database that stores the first phone number of the user.

A system for identifying spoken language in a telecommunications relay service, which includes a call serving entity; and a plurality of automatic speech recognition groups where each of the automatic speech recognition groups includes an associated automatic speech recognition engine that recognizes and transcribes speech to a predefined language. One of the plurality of automatic speech recognition groups is set as a default automatic speech recognition group and automatic speech recognition engines transcribe and convert peer voices into text packets. The text packets are scored by the automatic speech recognition engine and transmitted to the call serving entity to determine whether the text packets meet a predetermined threshold based on their respective scores with the text packet having the highest score that meets or exceeds the predetermine threshold transmitted to a user.

A system for providing a caption feedback service to a call center agent includes a plurality of TRS providers, a caption feedback system, and a plurality of call centers. The TRS providers provide a transcription service to TRS users during phone calls between the TRS users and peers, and the call centers connect phone calls between customers and call agents. The caption feedback system is connected to the caption feedback agents of the TRS providers and caption feedback clients of the call centers via data networks. If the caption feedback system finds that the TRS user's phone number matches the customer's phone number and the peer's phone number matches the call center's phone number, the caption feedback server connects the TRS provider to the call center via data network to enable transfer of the caption data of the call agent's voice from the TRS provider to the call center.

A system and a method for switching call agents in telecommunications relay service includes a TRS server system. The TRS server system includes a voice handler for processing voice data, a text handler for processing text data, and a controller for controlling, establishing, and terminating voice paths and data paths. The voice handler transmits a peer's voice to a first CA such that the first CA transcribes and converts the peer's voice into text data. The text handler receives the text data generated by the first CA. The controller selects a second CA; establishes a voice path and a data path between the second CA and the TRS server system; and terminate the voice path and data path associated with the first CA.

System and method for switching call agents in telecommunications relay service

A Wireless Caption Communication Service ('WCCS') System includes a relay center, a wireless caption communication device, and a wireless captioning service server. The wireless caption communication device has a voice collecting device and a wireless caption communication terminal. Text entered by a first user is transmitted to the wireless captioning service server and converted into a speech. Then, the speech is transmitted to the voice collecting device and the sound of the speech comes out of a speaker of the voice collecting device so that a second user can hear the speech. The voice of the second user is transmitted to the wireless captioning service server and then to the relay center. The voice is converted into a caption data and transmitted to the wireless caption communication device, and the caption data is displayed on the wireless caption communication terminal so that the first user can read the caption data.

By using voice in wireless and data network, WCTS Sever System provides Wireless Captioned Telephone Service, WCTS), which is one of Telecommunication Relay Service Types. This invention provides convenience by providing the same method of non-handicapped person with WCTS terminal when a deaf person who can speak is speaking on the phone with non-handicapped person. On the other hand, this invention also provides the method of direct dialing to a deaf person who can speak, not the method of indirect dialing that uses representative number of relay center.
