A device including a stretchable display and a method of controlling the device are disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a stretchable display including a display unit formed on a front side of the stretchable display and configured to display images in a display area. The device also includes a support attached to a rear surface of the stretchable display and including a battery and a controller. The device further includes a sensor formed on the support. The support further includes a folding portion along which the support and stretchable display are configured to be folded and a bending portion along which the support and stretchable display are configured to be bent. The sensor is formed at a position corresponding to the folding portion or the bending portion and the sensor is configured to sense when the device is bent or folded.

Device including stretchable display and method of controlling the device

A display apparatus includes a semiconductor substrate, a transistor, and a light-emitting diode. The transistor is disposed on the semiconductor substrate and uses a portion of the semiconductor substrate as an active layer thereof. The light-emitting diode is disposed on the semiconductor substrate and is electrically connected to the transistor.

Display apparatus including a micro light-emitting diode

A display apparatus includes a stretchable display panel, a plurality of movable surfaces adjacent the display panel, an actuator connected to rotate the movable surfaces in a direction, and a plurality of case sections accommodating the movable surfaces and the actuator. The case sections are connected to a border of the display panel. The movable surfaces rotate about a center axis in a predetermined region in order to push the case sections in an outward direction.

A display apparatus including a substrate; a plurality of unit displays disposed over the substrate, each of the unit displays including a thin film transistor including at least one inorganic layer, a display device electrically connected to the thin film transistor, and a planarization layer between the thin film transistor and the display device; and an encapsulation layer encapsulating the plurality of unit displays, wherein the planarization layer of each of the unit displays includes a spaced area exposing a surface of the at least one inorganic layer between the plurality of unit displays, and wherein the encapsulation layer contacts the at least one inorganic layer in the spaced area.

Display device

A stretchable display is disclosed. In one aspect, the stretchable display includes a display unit that is stretchable and a rotation member arranged below the display unit and connected to the display unit. The rotation member is configured to tension the display unit. The stretchable display further includes a fixing member arranged below the rotation member and defining a rotation axis. The rotation member is further configured to rotate about the rotation axis so as to tension the display unit.

Stretchable display

A stretchable display is disclosed. In one aspect, the stretchable display includes a plurality of pixel substrates arranged in a matrix having row and column directions. Each of the pixel substrates includes an island and a flexible hinge connecting the island to at least one of the adjacent pixel substrates. The island of each of the pixel substrates includes a plurality of first sides and a plurality of second sides. The flexible hinge of each of the pixel substrates includes a plurality of first flexible sub-hinges respectively extending from the first sides in the row direction and a plurality of second flexible sub-hinges respectively extending from the second sides in the column direction.

An electrowetting display panel includes an array substrate, a cover substrate, an electrowetting layer, and a hydrophobic pattern. The array substrate includes a display area and a peripheral area surrounding the display area and the cover substrate faces the array substrate. The electrowetting layer is disposed between the array substrate and the cover substrate and includes a polar fluid as a first fluid and a non-polar fluid as a second fluid. The hydrophobic pattern is disposed in the peripheral area.
