The instant disclosure relates to hair coloring base compositions containing coconut oil, ready-to-use hair coloring compositions containing coconut oil, and methods for coloring hair. The hair coloring base composition includes: (a) coconut oil; (b) one or more oils other than coconut oil; (c) one or more alkalizing agents; (d) one or more oxidative dye precursors and/or couplers; (e) one or more surfactants; (f) one or more thickening agents; and (g) water. The hair coloring base compositions, the ready-to-use hair coloring compositions, and the methods provide vibrant and durable color to the hair while imparting moisturizing, styling, and anti-frizz properties to the hair; and are particularly useful for curly and very curly hair types.

Hair coloring with coconut oil

The disclosure relates to compositions for altering the color of keratin fibers and methods of using the compositions. The compositions comprise (a) a bonding system comprising (i) at least one first bonding agent chosen from alpha-hydroxy acids comprising at least three hydrogen donor carboxyl groups and/or salts thereof; (ii) at least one second bonding agent chosen from glycine and/or salts thereof; and (iii) optionally, at least one third bonding agent chosen from amino sulfonic acids and/or salts thereof; (b) at least one fatty alcohol; (c) at least one fatty acid; (d) at least one alkyl polyglucoside; (e) at least one alkalizing agent; and (f) at least one solvent. The compositions can further comprise one or more oxidation dyes, couplers, oxidizing agents, or combinations thereof.

Compositions and methods for altering the color of hair

The disclosure relates to hair color base compositions comprising an alkoxylated fatty alcohol, a fatty acid, a fatty alcohol, a buffer system, and optionally a thickening agent and/or colorant compound, hair color altering compositions comprising the hair color base, and kits and methods for altering the color of keratinous fibers such as hair.
