Disclosed is a handoff processing method capable of restarting fast communications. The handoff processing method stores in a handoff buffer Host Control Interface (HCI) data and transmission data upon communications in a state where an Access Point is interlinked with an external device. Further, the method forwards the HCI data and the transmission data buffered in the handoff buffer to a new Access Point (AP) transmitting a message indicating setup completion of a connection if the message indicating setup completion of a connection with the external device is transmitted from the new AP after a handoff occurs as the external device moves. Accordingly, throughputs are not lowered despite handoff occurrences in poor wireless channel environments, so that service quality can be enhanced.

Short-range wireless communication system and a handoff processing method therefor

A method and system for determining a state of a first node in a wireless network consisting of a plurality of nodes. The first node determines one of at least two power sensitivity levels by considering at least one of an available power and a standby packet. The first node determines whether it remains in active state or inactive state by considering a power sensitivity level transmitted from at least one second node which corresponds to the first node and the determined power sensitivity level. Disclosed is a channel time allocation method in a high rate WPAN and a wireless system using the same. In the WPAN environment synchronized by a synchronization signal broadcasted from a coordinator, the channel time allocation method includes transmitting a channel time allocation request command corresponding to a property of an application data to be transmitted to the coordinator by any one of devices linked to the WPAN, and the coordinator allocating the channel time, inserting information of the allocated channel time to the synchronization signal, and broadcasting the synchronization signal to the devices. Accordingly, the channel time is allocated to fit for the property of the VBR stream data such as the MPEG-2 video so that the QoS of the VBR stream is provided. At the same time, reliability of the transmission of I frame is enhanced so that success rate of decoding the frame is increased.

Channel time allocation method in high rate WPAN

A wireless communication method in a network environment in which several devices are connected and wireless communications are performed through a channel synchronized by a sync signal that is broadcast from a piconet coordinate (PNC) selected among the several devices. The wireless communication method includes classifying a first frame to be transmitted to a first device among the several devices into a predetermined number of classes, calculating a waiting time before backoff depending on the classes, and determining whether the channel is used by any other device during the calculated waiting time, calculating a backoff time according to the classes and performing the backoff during the calculated backoff time, if the channel is idle during the waiting time, and transmitting the first frame when the backoff time ends. By adapting the priority to the CAP of the superframe, the control information is quickly conveyed and a high rate wireless communication is realized.

Wireless communication method adapting priority for transmitting packets in WPAN

A wireless communication system includes a queue status detection unit for detecting the amount of unit data being used for communication between a plurality of external devices, and deciding a class parameter T of one of the external devices; a counter for counting the number of giving-away times of the external device based on the giving-away of communication opportunities to communicate with the plurality of external devices, and deciding a delay parameter D of an external device; a communication priority decision unit for calculating priority values P of an external device by using a class parameter and a delay parameter, and determining an external device having a priority out of the plurality of external devices based on the priority values; and a communication initiation unit for initiating data communications with the determined external device having the priority. Accordingly, a communication method considering both throughput and fairness can be obtained.
