A battery pack is configured to discharge a high-temperature gas to the outside of the battery pack without affecting other adjacent battery modules when the gas is generated inside the battery module. The battery pack includes a pack housing; battery modules; and a first side venting channel and a second side venting channel configured to guide a venting gas generated from the battery modules to a collection space at a position corresponding to the battery module, and the pack cover includes a protrusion on a surface of a region corresponding to the collection space.

Battery pack and vehicle including the same

A battery pack discharges a high-temperature gas to the outside of the battery pack without affecting other adjacent battery modules when the gas is generated inside the battery module. The battery pack includes a pack housing; a battery module; and a pack cover having a first center venting channel, a first side venting channel, a second center venting channel and a second side venting channel configured to guide a venting gas generated from the battery module at a position corresponding to the battery module, the pack cover being configured to cover the battery modules by being coupled to the pack housing.

A battery module including a cell stack structure in which a plurality of battery cells including a first battery cell and a second battery cell neighboring each other are stacked. A bus bar frame assembly includes a plurality of lead drawing holes from which electrode leads included in the plurality of battery cells are drawn out. An electrode lead of a first polarity included in the first battery cell and an electrode lead of the first polarity included in the second battery cell are externally drawn out through a same lead drawing hole. The electrode lead of the first battery cell and the electrode lead of the second battery cell are bent in a same direction at a same location and each includes a first bent portion formed on a terrace portion and a second bent portion formed in a region where a lead film is formed.

A cartridge including a body having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, the first surface being configured to seat at least a portion of a first battery cell, and a first supporting pattern disposed in a first area along an edge of the first surface of the body and corresponding to a gas pocket of the first battery cell is provided. A battery module having a plurality of such cartridges is also provided.

An integrated cartridge, comprising: a main frame composed of a front plate having a plurality of lead passing holes provided in a slit form so that electrode leads of a plurality of layered battery cells pass therethrough, and first and second side plates extending at both edges of the front plate in parallel to each other and having a plurality of cell insert slots provided at inner sides thereof, which face each other, so that the plurality of battery cells are capable of being inserted from a free end to the front plate; a cover plate coupled to the first and second side plates to cover the plurality of battery cells arranged in a layered form between the first and second side plates; and a sensing unit mounted to the front plate and electrically connected to the electrode leads to sense electric characteristics of the plurality of battery cells.
