Disclosed is a display device including a display panel that displays an image on a display surface and an input sensor having a sensor area and a dummy area defined therein. The input sensor includes a first conductive layer that is disposed on the display panel and that includes a first dummy electrode disposed in the sensor area and the dummy area, a second conductive layer that is disposed on the first conductive layer and that includes a sensor electrode disposed in the sensor area and a second dummy electrode disposed in the dummy area, and a pressure sensor electrode disposed between the first dummy electrode and the second dummy electrode.

A display device includes: a display panel including a first area having a first light transmissivity and a second area having a second light transmissivity higher than the first light transmissivity; a pressure sensor overlapping the first area; a light emitter overlapping the second area; a light receiver overlapping the second area and spaced from the light emitter; and a processor to control the light emitter and the pressure sensor, and to output a blood pressure signal on a basis of a pressure sensing signal from the pressure sensor and a light sensing signal from the light receiver.

Display device and method of driving the same in two modes

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a touch sensing unit disposed on the display panel. The touch sensing unit includes a touch sensor and a first pressure sensor. The touch sensor includes a first touch electrode layer and a second touch electrode layer disposed on the first touch electrode layer. The first pressure sensor includes: a transmission pressure electrode, a sensing pressure electrode separated from the transmission pressure electrode, and a piezoresistive pattern contacting each of the transmission pressure electrode and the sensing pressure electrode. Each of the transmission pressure electrode and the sensing pressure electrode is disposed in a same layer as any one of the first touch electrode layer and the second touch electrode layer.

The touch panel calculates coordinate information of an input position by an electrostatic capacitive method in a first mode and calculates the coordinate information of the input position by an electromagnetic induction method in a second mode. The touch panel includes scan line groups and source line groups, which are operated as touch electrodes or touch coils on the basis of the operating mode thereof. A flexible display device and a method of driving a flexible display device, in which the method of driving the flexible display device includes detecting a capacitance change with respect to at least some coordinates of a display area, determining whether bending is occurring through the detected capacitance change, and setting a driving mode in response to a result of the step of determining whether bending is occurring. The driving mode is converted into a bending mode when it is determined that bending is occurring, and the driving mode is set into a force touch mode when it is determined that bending is not occurring.

A display device may include a first substrate, a touch sensor disposed on the first substrate, a second substrate disposed on the touch sensor, and a display unit disposed on the second substrate and which displays an image. A flexible display device includes a flexible display panel to generate an image and a bending detection screen to detect a bending angle and a bending position. The bending detection screen includes an angle detection sensor and a position detection sensor. The angle detection sensor includes a material with a resistance that changes in correspondence to an intensity of an applied stress. The angle detection sensor has an area per unit length that is substantially constant on a base surface. The position detection sensor includes a material with a resistance that changes in correspondence to an intensity of the applied stress. The position detection sensor has an area per unit length that increases along a length direction on the base surface. Signal lines are connected to the angle and position detection sensors.
