The present invention relates to a mobile communication base station system comprising: a donor unit connected to a baseband unit; and a remote unit installed at the base station antenna side, wherein the donor unit has a baseband signal processing part including a digital signal processing part for processing interface with the baseband unit, a wireless communication part for processing a wireless communication signal between the baseband signal processing part and the remote unit, and a synchronization and communication control part for processing a synchronizing signal and a communication control signal from the baseband unit, and wherein the remote unit has a service signal processing part for processing MIMO interface with a base station antenna, a wireless communication part for processing a wireless communication signal between the service signal processing part and the donor unit, and a synchronization and communication control part for processing a synchronizing signal and a communication control signal from the donor unit. The donor unit and the remote unit can be easily expanded in a daisy-chain fashion, thereby broadening coverage, and can also be utilized for multihop relay, and thus are suitable for small cell-based next generation communication systems for capacity expansion.

At least one beamforming matrix is used for processing transmission signals to terminals included in a terminal set for a multiple access is determined. Minimum power values required for satisfying a minimum transmission rate of the terminals are determined. Whether optimum power values exist is determined using the minimum power values, the beamforming matrix, and a limit transmission power of the base station. When the optimum power values exist, transmission power values for respective terminals are determined in a range meeting the limit transmission power of the base station.

Apparatus and method for controlling power in distributed multiple input multiple output wireless communication system

A scheduling method in a distributed antenna system is provided. Each of a plurality of Mobile Stations (MSs), respectively corresponding to each subchannel, are classified as a Single Transmission (ST) MS or a Cooperative Transmission (CT) MS according to a CT criterion. An MS with a maximum channel capacity is selected from among the classified MSs. Resources are allocated to a corresponding subchannel when the selected MS is the ST MS, and resources are allocated using a CT scheduling technique when the selected MS is the CT MS. The classifying, selecting and allocating steps are repeated until allocation of resources is completed.

A method, apparatus and system for increasing cell capacity through optional signal combining between Relay Stations (RSs) in a cellular system using wired RSs is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a Base Station (BS), an average Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I) value of transmission signals from Mobile Stations (MSs) located inside each coverage area, being fed back from the RSs or the MSs in its corresponding cell; classifying the MSs into two groups according to the C/I value; performing resource allocation satisfying a minimum data rate from a corresponding RS, for MSs belonging to a group having a C/I value greater than a preset threshold &#x393; among the classified groups; performing resource allocation by applying an optional signal combining scheme taking into account two RSs having a highest C/I value, for MSs belonging to a group having a C/I value below the threshold among the classified groups; and allocating all unallocated subchannels of each individual RS in an order of an MS having a high C/I value among MSs of a corresponding RS until there is no more unallocated subchannel of each RS.
