Disclosed is a frequency error detector and combiner at a receiving end of a mobile communication system. The frequency error detector and combiner using a diversity operation at a reception end of a mobile communication system includes: a plurality of fingers respectively having a diversity combiner for diversity-combining reference symbols used for a frequency error detection, and a frequency error detector for combining output signals of the diversity combiner to generate a frequency offset value; and a frequency error combiner for performing a multipath diversity combination on output signals of the frequency error detector.

Frequency error detector and combiner in receiving end of mobile communication system

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for receiving a channel signal using a STTD (Space Time Transmit Diversity) scheme in a CDMA communication system. In the CDMA communication system a transmitter with first and second antennas STTD (Space Time Transmit Diversity)-encodes a channel signal having PC (Power Control) information of a receiver and transmits a STTD-encoded result over first and second antennas, a first antenna signal processor receives a signal transmitted from the transmitter, and processes the received signal as a signal transmitted from the first antenna using a first pattern, a second antenna signal processor processes the received signal as a signal transmitted from the second antenna using a second pattern orthogonal to the first pattern, and an adder combines an output signal of the first and second antenna signal processor, and generates the PC information, resulting in no delay time while detecting such PC information.

Apparatus and method for receiving channel signal using space time transmit diversity scheme in code division multiple access communication system

A digital signal receiver and a method for receiving a digital signal. The receiver includes an equalizing unit for compensating for an amplitude distortion of a received signal, an original signal decision unit for deciding an original signal from a signal which is compensated for the amplitude distortion, a carrier recovering and phase lock detecting unit for detecting a phase error between an input of the original signal decision unit and the decided original signal, and outputting a phase lock signal, a re-rotating unit for restoring the signal from the original signal decision unit to its original state and outputting a restored signal to the equalizer, and a coefficients updating unit for receiving the phase lock signal from the carrier recovering and phase lock detecting unit and the restored signal from the re-rotator unit, generating an error for updating the coefficients of the equalizer, and updating the coefficients of the equalizer.
