A knee joint endoprosthesis is provided having a femoral part ( ) that can be linked with a shank part to be anchored in the femur, the femoral part being provided with two runners ( ) interlinked ventrally via a bridge. A tibia plateau part ( ) interacts with a shank part to be anchored in the tibia and is provided with two slide guides ( ) in which the runners ( ) of the femoral part ( ) can roll off and slide. With increasing bend of the knee joint and upon exceeding a predetermined bending angle, the femoral part is allowed to perform an increasing rotation relative to the tibia plateau part ( ).

Knee joint endoprosthesis

Pairs of partner elements for artificial joint implants have two-dimensional surface contact in which one joint part ( ) rotates, rolls, slides or combines these in one movement relative to another joint part ( ). A hydraulic power steering system for non-tracked vehicles, particularly motor vehicles, has a steering adjustment of the steered vehicle wheels which takes place of a hydraulic actuating assembly which can be connected by a change-over valve with one respectively of two or several hydraulic circuits. In normal operation, the circuits operate in parallel and functionally in the same direction so that, in the event of a disturbance, a change-over can take place to another hydraulic circuit without any interruption. For controlling the actuating assembly, each hydraulic circuit comprises a servo valve which is operated as a function of a desired-actual value comparison of the steering angle by a control and automatic control device, which is connected with an actual steering angle value generator operated by the steered vehicle wheels and a desired steering angle value generator controlled by way of the steering handle operated on the driver side.

Prophylactic implant against fracture of osteoporosis-affected bone segments

A knee joint endoprosthesis has an element for the femur (,) which is substantially U-shaped when seen from a medial to a lateral angle, one horizontal, two diagonal and two vertical support surfaces facing the femur for accommodation on the resected femur bone, which is fitted with two runners (,), and an element for the tibia (,) having two slide tracks (,) on which the runners for the femur element can roll, and optionally slide, and a horizontal support surface (,) facing the tibia for accommodation on the resected tibia. The femur element (,) and tibia element (,) are configured without any shanks. At least both diagonal support surfaces of the femur element (,) and the horizontal support surface (,) of the tibia element (,) are fitted with an open-mesh, three-dimensional spatial network structure (,) which is an integral component of the base structures (,&prime;) of the femur element (,) and the tibia element (,). Two latches (,) angled toward the femur and provided with at least one respective through hole (,) are medially and laterally formed on the femur element (,), whereby a bone screw (,) can be inserted therein; and two latches (,) angled toward the tibia and provided with at least one respective through hole (,) are formed on the tibia element, whereby a bone screw (,) can be inserted therein.

Shankless knee joint endoprosthesis

A femur endoprosthesis for an artificial hip joint is provided with a stem (1) which can be implanted without cement in the upper region of a femur below the greater trochanter. The proximal end (8) of the stem is connectable with an adapter (2) for accommodating an artificial spherical part of a joint (20). The exterior of the stem is at least partially covered with an open-meshed three-dimensional spatial lattice structure (9). A distal end of the stem is bent caudally with a caudally oriented step (31) in the transition area and constructed as a stem end (30), which is also at least partially covered with an open-meshed three-dimensional spatial lattice structure (9).

Femur endoprosthesis for articial hip joint

An implant to replace a rear patella part is provided, which comprises a prosthesis part imitating the patella part and a metal attachment part fixed in the prosthesis part, with which the implant can be attached in the natural patella part. In order to produce a gentle and secure attachment for the implant, the attachment part has a convexly curved external contour, which at least in sections has an open-cell and open-pore surface structure.

Implant for replacing a rear patella part

An automotive retarder in which an outer toroid of at least one inner hydrodynamic operating cycle is bounded by inner surfaces of shells of at least two impellers engaged in the operating cycle. One of the impellers is adapted to be positioned by a thrust torque with another impeller by a counter support torque. The shell of the impeller which can be positioned by the thrust torque is provided with at least one aperture to reduce losses under idling conditions of the retarder. An annular slide valve is arranged concentrically with respect to an axis of rotation of the retarder with a sealing surface being provided on the valve which is stationary with respect to the valve. The annular slide valve may be displaced relative to the outlet aperture into a braking position such that the outlet aperture is closed off by the sealing surface of the annular slide valve and into at least one idling position unblocking the outlet opening to a greater or lesser extent. The associated sealing surface has an outline or configuration corresponding to the outer toroid and, in a braking position, the sealing surface is at least approximately flush with an inner surface of the shell of the impeller adapted to be positioned by the thrust torque.

Automotive retarder

This invention relates to shanks for knee joint endoprostheses which, on implantation, are inserted in a space prepared in the spongiose and marrow of the receiving bone. The invention consists in matching the external contour of the shank for at least a part of its length to the cross-section of the medullar cavity in a normal human bone receiving the shank.
