A medical device for inserting into a bodily orifice or cavity of an individual, which includes a first longitudinal hollow body and a second longitudinal hollow body that receives the first hollow body. Between the one end thereof and the first hollow body, there is a stepped transition which extends in the radial direction and can pass into an at least substantially step-free transition by virtue of the fact that the first hollow body, in the region of the stepped transition, expands in the radial direction towards the second hollow body and/or that the second hollow body, in the region of the stepped transition, contracts in the radial direction towards the first hollow body.

Medical device for introducing into a bodily orifice or cavity of an individual

A change-out handle system is provided for releasably coupling two elongated, axially relatively displaceable functional parts to a medical instrument unit. The change-out handle system includes a first and a second handle part disposed axially relatively displaceably, a first coupler for releasably axially rigidly immovably coupling a first of the two functional parts to the first handle part and a second coupler for releasably, axially rigidly immovably coupling the second of the two functional parts to the second handle part. The second handle part has a pass-through opening for passing at least the first of the two functional parts. The change-out handle system can be used, for example, for medical solids trapping instruments.

Change-out handle system and medical instrument

An intervertebral implant has a head positioned at one end of the implant. The head has a conical portion, on which an external thread is formed, and an outer end region formed by a protective elevation. The elevation is, is viewed from the outside, convexly curved and free from sharp edges. A central portion is positioned between the head and a basic structure which is formed at an opposite end of the implant. The central portion is formed by a plurality of struts extending from the head to the basic structure. The central portion is provided with an external thread and has openings formed between the head, the struts and the basic structure.
