An X-ray system has a patient examination table, an image acquisition unit under the surface of the patient examination table, and an X-ray radiator that can be positioned above the patient examination table, On the patient examination table a radiation protection device is disposed, which&#x2014;during the operation&#x2014;shields at least one zone on one side of the patient examination table from the radiation area between the X-ray radiator and the image acquisition unit. In addition, on the patient examination table an X-ray system operation unit is disposed that is accessible from the shielded zone.

A medical diagnostics installation comprises components for portraying an examination region on a monitor and includes an operating unit which is spatially spaced from the monitor and has a control unit, either a sensor field, a joystick or a key field, for acting on a data processor for controlling the components. The data processor includes a data store that contains data corresponding to different operating menus, and these menus are capable of being called in via the operating unit and are displayed on the monitor. At least one operating condition of the medical diagnostics installation can be produced by the operating unit and the operating menus correspond to the operating conditions being displayed on the monitor are only the operating functions required for this operating condition. The operating functions are controllable via a mark or cursor which is controlled by either the sensor field, joystick or key field.

The invention relates to a radiodiagnostic installation with a motor-adjustable patient table, a motor-adjustable radiation diaphragm, and an image intensifier television system for image reproduction. With the monitor of the image intensifier television system a light pen is associated for the entry of certain sites on the monitor into a memory. Connected to the memory are control circuits for the motors of the patient table and of the primary radiation diaphragm, which are designed so that the patient table and the primary radiation diaphragm are adjusted in accordance with the respective image field on the monitor to which the light pen points.
