RF communication systems with interference cancellation for coexistence are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a method of interference cancellation includes filtering a radio frequency (RF) transmit signal to generate a first RF feedback signal using a first filter of a front end system, filtering the RF transmit signal to generate a second RF feedback signal using a second filter of the front end system, processing the first RF feedback signal to generate a first digital interference cancellation signal using a first feedback receiver, processing the second RF feedback signal to generate a second digital interference cancellation signal using a second feedback receiver, and compensating an RF receive signal for interference based on the first digital interference cancellation signal and the second digital interference cancellation signal using a receiver.

Mixed signal low noise interference cancellation

Antenna-plexers for interference cancellation are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a wireless device includes an antenna, an antenna-plexer coupled to the antenna and configured to generate a feedback signal, a transmitter configured to transmit a transmit signal to the antenna by way of the antenna-plexer, a receiver configured to process a receive signal, and a feedback receiver configured to process the feedback signal from the antenna-plexer to provide compensation to the receive signal.

Antenna-plexer for interference cancellation

RF communication systems with interference cancellation for coexistence are provided herein. In certain embodiments, an RF communication system includes a transmitter that transmits a transmit signal through a first front end circuit, a receiver that processes a receive signal from a second front end circuit, and a feedback receiver that processes a feedback signal from the first front end circuit to generate a digital interference cancellation signal that compensates the receiver for interference arising from the transmitter.

One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for transistor matching. The power transmitter comprises a first, second, and third amplification path. The paths are selectively activated and deactivated to output a received signal with high efficiency and linearity. The first amplification path is configured to receive a first signal and output a first amplified signal to a first port of a output power combiner when activated and provide an impedance that results in a high reflection factor when deactivated. The second amplification path is configured to receive a second signal with 90&#xb0; phase shift with respect to the first signal and output a second amplified signal to a second port of the combiner when activated and provide an impedance that results in a high reflection factor when deactivated. The third amplification path is configured to receive a third signal and output a third amplified signal to a third port of the output power combiner when activated and provide an impedance that results in an impedance that matches the output impedance when deactivated.

Power efficient transmitter with high dynamic range

One embodiment relates to a circuit for active loss compensation. The circuit includes a parallel inductor-capacitive (LC) tank circuit having a first single-ended output. A first adjustable capacitor, which includes a first terminal and a second terminal, is coupled to the first single-ended output. The circuit also includes a first pair of transistors having sources coupled to a first common node. One transistor of the first pair of transistors has a drain coupled to the first single-ended output and the other transistor of the first pair of transistors has a gate coupled to the second terminal of the first adjustable capacitor. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Dynamically adjustable Q-factors

A low-noise amplifier circuit is specified which has a switchable gain ratio. For this purpose, a parallel circuit comprising a first and a second current path () is provided between a radio-frequency signal input and output (), with the first current path () having a transistor which is connected in a common-base circuit for signal amplification, and the second current path () having a transistor which is connected in a common-emitter circuit () for signal amplification, and has input impedance matching (). Owing to the good noise characteristics and the good linearity characteristics, the described low-noise amplifier circuit is suitable for use in radio-frequency receivers in which adaptive pre-amplification is required even before a frequency converter, that is to say at the radio-frequency level, because the input signal has a wide dynamic range, such as that in the case of UMTS.

Low-noise amplifying circuit

To keep the power consumption in the modulator-demodulator of a mobile radio as low as possible, the modulator-demodulator has a voltage-controlled oscillator. Downstream of which a divider chain having a plurality of series-connected dividers each with an even-numbered division factor is connected. Each of the dividers produces a carrier signal and a carrier signal that is orthogonal with respect thereto. A quadrature modulator for the received signal is connected to a divider of the divider chain that produces the carrier signal at the required carrier frequency. In addition, a first vector modulator is provided whose mixers are connected to the dividers of the divider chain that produce the carrier signals at the required carrier frequencies. Connected downstream of the first vector modulator is a further divider with an even-numbered division factor, and connected downstream of this is a second vector modulator for producing a transmitted signal.
