A vehicle braking unit comprises an operating braking pressure inlet which receives an inlet braking pressure built up by a braking cylinder, and at least one operating brake pressure outlet at which an outlet braking pressure is provided for an operating brake modulator, which is upstream of the operating brake and provides anti-lock functionality. At least one connecting channel hydraulically connects the operating brake pressure inlet to the outlet. Brake fluid is supplied from a storage unit through the brake cylinder, the connecting channel and the operating brake modulator. The braking unit has a brake fluid inlet, through which the brake fluid is received from the storage unit, a brake fluid pump, by which the brake fluid is suctioned through the brake fluid inlet and a supply pressure is built up, and a valve unit that controls the outlet braking pressure and/or a parking brake release pressure by the supply pressure.

Vehicle braking unit and method

A valve device for a pneumatically-operated vehicle brake system can adjust the pneumatic brake pressure that can be fed to a brake in a controlled manner. A first variant of the valve device is configured as a modulator for use in an electronically regulated embodiment of the brake system; and a second variant is configured for use in a pneumatically controlled embodiment of the brake system. However, both variants have pneumatic interfaces and mechanical fastening points that are configured substantially identically with respect to one another to facilitate conversion of the brake system from one such embodiment to another.

Valve device for a pneumatically operated brake system

A braking device for a vehicle comprises a main brake cylinder, which provides, in response to the actuation thereof, an operating brake pressure in at least one operating brake circuit for the actuation of an operating brake. A hydraulic fluid pressure intake is connected to a hydraulic circuit, which contains a hydraulic fluid having a built-up hydraulic circuit pressure. Through the hydraulic fluid pressure intake, the hydraulic fluid is provided at the hydraulic circuit pressure. The braking device further comprises a valve device, which actively controls a main brake cylinder actuation pressure and/or a parking brake release pressure by means of the hydraulic fluid that is provided. The main brake cylinder is actuated by means of the main brake cylinder actuation pressure for an active brake engagement. Alternatively or additionally, a parking brake is hydraulically released by means of the parking brake release pressure.

Hydraulic brake system braking method and braking device

A valve device for brake control of a different pressure medium-operated vehicle brake systems comprises a housing that has pressure medium ducts. A relay valve provides a pneumatic control pressure, which is fed to the relay valve via at least one of the pressure medium ducts at a higher flow rate. At least one insert is pneumatically connected to at least two of the pressure medium ducts, which can be pneumatically connected to each other by the insert. The two pressure medium ducts define a pressure medium path, the profile of which differs based on the housing that is in each case selected and/or switched based on the selected insert. The housing is selected from a set of housings having different pressure medium ducts, in particular bores, but which are otherwise essentially similar. The insert is selected from a set of different inserts.

Valve device adaptable for brake control of a variety of pressure medium-operated vehicle brake systems

In a device and method for controlling the driving dynamics of a vehicle having a driver's cab spring mounted with respect to the vehicle frame, the yaw rate and deflection of the driver's cab are detected. A yaw rate sensor is arranged in the driver's cab, and the yaw rate of the vehicle frame is estimated or calculated from the yaw rate and deflection of the driver's cab. If the difference between the estimated or calculated yaw rate of the vehicle frame and a desired yaw rate exceeds a limit value, the brake system and/or the drive are actuated.

Device and method for controlling the driving dynamics of a vehicle

A braking system for a vehicle, particularly a commercial vehicle, includes an operating brake device for providing an operating brake function for braking the vehicle, and a parking brake device for providing a parking brake function independently of the operating brake system. If one of the two braking devices partially or completely fails, the vehicle can be braked automatically by means of the other braking device.

Fault-tolerant vehicle brake system

An actuating device includes a vehicle operating brake and parking brake. A first braking effect is generated by the parking brake independently of a braking procedure for the operating brake. The actuating device comprises a first switched state, wherein the first braking effect of the parking brake cannot be provided, and a second switched state, wherein the first (full) braking effect of the parking brake is provided. The actuating device further comprises a manually actuatable operating element for actuating the parking brake that comprises travel positions. The actuating device is switched to the second switched state in a first travel position when the parking brake is released, and to the first switched state when the parking brake is applied. Also, the actuating device is switchable to a further switched state. In an actuating method, the actuating device is switched to the further switched state in response to an actuation.

Actuating device and method for a vehicle parking brake

A brake system for a vehicle includes brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid for actuation of brakes by means of pressurized fluid on at least one first axle of the vehicle. The brakes on at least one other, second, axle can be actuated exclusively electromechanically in response to an electrical braking request signal. The pressure of the pressurized fluid can be modulated indirectly or directly and the electrical braking request signal can be generated indirectly or directly in response to actuation of a brake pedal of a brake pedal device. A service brake function is provided by means of hybrid use of the brakes on the first axle(s) together with the brakes on the second axle(s). The brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid are pneumatically operated brake cylinders. The pressure modulated by the brake pedal device is a pneumatic pressure, and the pressurized fluid is compressed air.

Vehicle brake system

A control device for a compressed air preparation device of a vehicle outputs output signals for adjusting feed phases and regeneration phases of the compressed air preparation device. A compressor feeds compressed air via an air dryer having a desiccant into a compressed air reservoir in a feed phase, and compressed air is passed out of the compressed air reservoir through the air dryer for drying the desiccant in a regeneration phase. The control device adjusts the regeneration phases depending on a current or future engine load and/or a current or future consumption of compressed air by the vehicle. In overrun phases, the desiccant can be excessively dried to a low moisture level in order to save fuel in later travel segments. Route-optimized regeneration of the desiccant as a function of engine load and/or utilization phases can also be effected.

Control device and control method for a vehicle compressed air preparation device

A parking brake of a brake system for a vehicle includes an anti-lock device, which, based on a signal that is dependent on the rotational speed of the vehicle engine, transmission, or drive shaft, prevents blocking or excess slippage of a wheel that can be decelerated by the parking brake.

Vehicle parking brake and operating method

An electropneumatic parking brake modulator for controlling a parking brake mode of trailer brakes in a vehicle/trailer combination includes a valve element for airing and bleeding the trailer spring brake cylinders, at least one compressed air reservoir inlet for airing at least one compressed air line in the parking brake modulator with compressed air from a compressed air reservoir of the towing vehicle, at least one compressed air reservoir outlet at which a reservoir pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer, and at least one compressed air control outlet at which a control pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer. A towing vehicle protection valve is integrated into the parking brake modulator, and a compressed air line to the compressed air control outlet is automatically blockable when the reservoir pressure made available for the trailer falls below a predetermined threshold value.
