An angular lever for guiding and moving a door leaf is rotatably mounted in a horizontal plane in the direct vicinity of the door frame. One limb of the angular lever is permanently connected to a guide rail of the door leaf, and the other limb temporarily engages with a control element on a guide unit to swing the door leaf. In order to open completely and subsequently close the door leaf, a guide arm of the door leaf is operatively connected to the control element. During the closing movement of the door leaf, an operative connection of the guide arm to the control element is released and the other limb of the angular lever engages again with the control element. When the angular lever assumes its home position, it presses the door leaf firmly against a door seal and locks the door leaf.

An emergency unlocking device for locking and unlocking systems for swinging sliding doors, in particular of rail vehicles. The emergency unlocking device has a traction device that engages on a first spring-loaded pivoted lever that is connected via a second lever to a third lever. The third lever is attached to the axial shaft of a spring-loaded rotary magnet and has elongate holes in which a bolt is displaceably mounted. When the traction device is subjected to tensile stress, the bolt engages with a fourth lever that is pivotably mounted on a shaft, and moves the fourth lever. The fourth lever is operatively connected via a coupling rod and deflection unit to a locking rod that moves the vertical direction. A rod, via which a force component that brings about the locking and unlocking of the door leaves can be applied, engages on the fourth lever.

Emergency unlocking device for locking and unlocking systems for swinging sliding doors, in particular of rail vehicles

An engagement element is provided on the inside of the door leaf or of the door at a defined distance from the inside of the door. A spring-loaded locking hasp lies horizontally opposite the engagement element on the inside of the door frame. The locking hasp has a semicircular or claw-shaped recess and a laterally projecting locking section. A locking element is movably guided inside the door frame and connected to a vertically movable rod. During the closing movement of the door, the engagement element engages with the recess of the locking hasp, which swings with its locking section in the direction of the center of the door opening and assumes a position parallel to the door and is locked in this position by a movement of the locking element which is triggered in the vertical direction.

A method and arrangement are provided for producing compound filters for products in the tobacco-processing industry. A filter tube, having a filter element in a central region of the filter tube, is supplied to a predetermined position. Predetermined portions of filtering material are then inserted into the filter tube from at least a first end of the filter tube so that filter segments form in at least a first part of the filter tube.

Apparatus for controlled removal of surplus material from one or more tows of tobacco particles, filter material for tobacco smoke or the like employs at least one belt conveyor for each stream. The outer side of such belt conveyor is provided with recesses which receive particulate material at the stream forming station or stations. Each stream is equalized by a discrete trimming device which employs a pair of cooperating rotary knives having circular cutting edges and serving to remove the surplus prior to compacting and wrapping of the thus obtained rod-like filler or fillers into web(s) of cigarette paper of the like. The material which has entered the recesses of the belt conveyor(s) contributes to greater density of the corresponding portions of the fillers or fillers, and such densified portions are severed by a cutoff to be located at the ends of plain cigarettes or at the tobacco-containing ends of filter cigarettes.

A transfer device is provided for transferring articles from a first conveying device to a second conveying device. The device has a central body and a plurality of transfer element sets attached to the central body. Each transfer element set comprises a plurality of pivoting transfer elements, and each transfer element has a receptacle for receiving an article. The plurality of transfer element sets are arranged around a perimeter of the central body. A first pivoting transfer element and a second pivoting transfer element within one of the transfer element sets are axially offset relative to each other along a common axis.

An apparatus for applying printed matter to the running web of cigarette paper or the like in a machine for making rod-shaped smokers' products employs a roller train which transfers printing ink from one or more sources to a rotary carrier of one or more stamps serving to apply trademarks, manufacturer's names and/or other printed matter to longitudinally spaced apart portions of the running web. At least one roller of the roller train has a resilient cylindrical outer layer which contacts the peripheral surface of at least one other roller of the train and surrounds an adjustable rotary eccentric which biases the cylindrical outer layer against the at least one other roller with a force determined by a prestressed coil spring. The eccentric is oscillatable axially against the opposition of a second spring, such as a diaphragm spring.

The distributor of a cigarette rod maker has a chamber bounded at least in part by a concave guide for a flow of fragments of smokable material in a stream of transporting fluid, such as air. The stream contains a surplus which is withdrawn from a centrally located zone of the chamber by a stationary apparatus having at its underside an inlet for the entry of surplus fluid and containing a nozzle which conveys the surplus fluid to a suction pipe serving to convey the surplus from the chamber.

Two parallel webs of wrapping material are advanced toward the inlet of a wrapping mechanism in a twin cigarette rod making, filter rod making or like machine adjacent a paster with two wheel-shaped rotary applicators which apply strips of adhesive to selected marginal portions of the respective webs. The applicators receive adhesive from discrete rotary adhesive supplying members which, in turn, receive adhesive from a tandem pump. The applicators are installed at a level below the wrapping mechanism to reduce the likelihood of contamination of such mechanism by sprays or droplets of adhesive. The webs are draped around discrete tobacco-containing or filter material-containing rods, and the adhesive-coated marginal portions of the webs are folded over the other marginal portions to form seams which extend in parallelism with the axes of the resulting cigarette rods or filter rods.

The guard carries a U-shaped deflecting unit for the leader and is pivotable with the motor for the knife to and from an operative position in which the leader is deflected and the knife can sever the rod behind the deflected leader. A rod-like filler for the making of a cigarette rod is obtained by showering particles of tobacco onto a foraminous belt conveyor which is located in front of a suction chamber and is flanked by two additional foraminous belt conveyors or by two stationary sidewalls so that the particles form a thin layer having a substantially U-shaped cross-sectional outline with a centrally located web and two legs. The legs are thereupon moved toward each other to convert the layer into a tube having a relatively soft core or a centrally located channel which is devoid of tobacco, and the filler is then draped into a web of cigarette paper and simultaneously densified to reduce its cross section to that of a cigarette before the resulting cigarette rod is subdivided into discrete cigarettes of desired length. The thickness of the layer is a fraction of its width. The sidewalls and/or a mandrel which keeps the center of the filler free of tobacco particles can admit into the layer hot air, moisture-laden air and/or volatile flavoring agents prior to conversion of the layer into a rod-like filler.
