The invention relates to a fuel module for the introduction of fuel from a fuel tank) to an internal combustion engine, comprising a supply pump (), through which fuel is taken up and supplied to a container () and a main pump (), which takes up fuel from the container () and supplies the internal combustion engine at high pressure. The supply pump () is a low-pressure pump, the outlet of which feeds into the container () through a fine filter ().

Fuel module

The invention relates to a device for ducting electrical lines through the wall of a fuel tank (), whereby a steel support () is materially connected to the wall of the fuel tank (). Contacts () are introduced through the support (). The contacts () have a sleeving () made from glass or ceramic. A leakage of fuel vapors from the fuel tank () is thus almost completely excluded.

The invention relates to a fuel delivery unit () that is disposed in the fuel tank () of a motor vehicle, the delivery unit comprising a level sensor () that detects when the amount of fuel in a surge chamber () falls below a minimum amount. When the fuel in the surge chamber () falls below a defined minimum, the supply of power to a delivery pump () that is driven by an electromotor is interrupted, thereby preventing the delivery pump () from delivering air when the surge chamber () is empty.

Fuel delivery unit

A fluid level () is measured through determining an inclination angle of a bracket () that rotatably connects a floating member () located near a surface of the fluid to a pivoting arrangement () which carries a resistor () of which a first part is branched off through a slider () moving along with a change in the angle. In particular, the following steps are executed. First, connecting a stabilized power supply (U) with its first terminal in series with a limiting resistor (RV) to one end of the resistor (); second, measuring the voltages over both the first part (UF) and over a remainder part (UE) of the resistor. Finally, calculating the resistance value of the first part (RX) through eliminating a contact resistance value (RU,) associated with the slider from the measurement equations given by the values of the respective voltages (UF, UE).

In a fuel tank for a motor vehicle, an intermediate tank is arranged for the intermediate storage of fuel fed via a plurality of suction jet pumps. The intermediate tank distributes the fuel to a plurality of baffles having feed units. One of the feed units is thereby prevented from running dry in the event of transverse accelerations of the fuel tank.

Fuel tank for a motor vehicle

A fuel tank for a motor vehicle comprising a wall composed of two shells arranged one above the other. The outer shell of the wall preferably has an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice. A filter element is arranged in front of the outlet orifice. Scavenging air from the inlet orifice thereby passes first into a gap between the shells and subsequently to a filter element. As a result, fuel vapors can no longer diffuse through the wall and pollute the environment.

Fuel tank

A feed device ( ) for fuel in a motor vehicle has a pressure regulating valve ( ) arranged in a forward-flow line ( ) leading to an internal combustion engine. The pressure regulating valve ( ) is activated by a pressure within a return-flow line ( ) and opens or closes a branch ( ) leading to a suction jet pump ( ). A pressure provided in the forward-flow line ( ) can thereby be regulated with particularly high accuracy.

Feed device intended for feeding fuel out of a fuel tank to an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle

A fuel tank for a motor vehicle, having a wall ( ) which is manufactured from plastic, in particular by injection molding, is provided on its inside with a permeation barrier ( ). The permeation barrier ( ) is manufactured from a material which is virtually impenetrable for fuel vapors. The permeation barrier ( ) is composed of shell parts ( ) which are welded to one another.

In a method of producing a fuel tank from plastic, a heating element is located between two shell parts to be welded to one another. When the shell parts are pressed together, the heating element melts into the plastic and produces a weld that provides a fuel-resistant seal. The fuel tank subsequently has a particularly exact shape.

Method of producing a plastic component and fuel tank for a motor vehicle

A fuel supply system for a motor vehicle has two feed units arranged in a fuel tank. The feed units in each case feed fuel out of baffles to an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle and to suction jet pumps. This ensures a reliable supply of fuel to the internal combustion engine, even in the case of a very high fuel requirement and in the case of an angled design of the fuel tank.

Fuel supply system

A device for supplying an internal combustion engine (,) of a motor vehicle with fuel has a return line (,) which is passed into a fuel tank (,) and has a wall made of a material of high thermal conductivity.
