The invention relates to a device and a method for cleaning a filter (7) disposed between a chamber contaminated with particles and a pump station. Herein a feedline (21) for oxygen or for an oxygen/inert gas mixture to the filter (7) is provided which is equipped with an arrangement (11) influencing the flow of gas. Moreover, the device has a drainage (20) for gaseous reaction products and, if necessary, inert gas from the filter (7), which is provided with an arrangement (15) influencing the throughflow of this gas.

An apparatus for making metal powders has a supply tank (2) for the molten starting material, at least one exchangeable pouring funnel (11, 13), at least one atomizing nozzle (12, 14) and at least one fall shaft (7) disposed thereunder for the solidification of the metal powder product. A chamber (1) enveloping the supply tank and the pouring funnel is disposed on the fall shaft (7). To be able more easily to change the pouring funnel or funnels, the chamber (1) has in the area of the pouring funnel a closable lateral opening (15), at which a lock chamber (16) for the introduction of the at least one pouring funnel (11, 13) is placed. A car (24) is held on tracks (18, 19) and can be driven into the chamber (1) and fully retracted into the lock chamber (16), and on its bottom is fastened a number of atomizing nozzles (12, 14) corresponding to the number of the pouring funnels (11, 13). The pouring funnels (11, 13) can be set downwardly onto the cars. The fall shaft (7) is provided with a coupling device (50) which, when the coaxial component group including a pouring funnel (11, 13) and atomizing nozzle (12, 14) has been positioned over the fall shaft (7), produces a gas-tight connection between the fall shaft (7) and the atomizing nozzle (12, 14).

In an electron beam generator where the heating current for the cathode is transformed by an insulating transformer 7 disposed on the high-voltage insulator 4 of the beam head, the primary winding of this insulating transformer 7 being connected to ground potential, and where a single-pole high-voltage connection 2 and a single-pole high-voltage cable 2 connect the beam head 3 to a high-voltage generator 1, the high-voltage cable 2, at its terminal ends, has a protective resistor 10 corresponding to the surge impedance of the high-voltage cable 2 in order to reduce the damages to insulating and component parts.

In the electron beam generator cooling is provided by the electrical conductors of the incandescent cathode and control electrode which are configured as heat bridges and connected to cooling plates in the interior of the high-voltage insulator which in turn are connected in a heat-conducting manner to a pot-shaped cooling body. The cooling body, configured as part of a capsule for accommodating circuitry for the control of the electron beam generator, is surrounded by a heat exchanger which is connected to a cooling circuit and is at ground potential, and is insulated from the cooling body by a wall of the high-voltage insulator.

A method and apparatus for vacuum coating of materials having a three-dimensional surface structure is disclosed that provides cooling, to prevent heat destruction of those materials during vacuum coating. The web is moved back and forth across the coating area, between rolls. A cooling film is rolled onto each roll with the web. As the web is unrolled, the film is unrolled and recooled before being rolled up again with the web.
