Method and apparatus for producing a faultless material web, as well as faultless material web

For removing defective transponder units or electronic transponder equipment a web (,)is parted in a station (,) firstly in front and then at the rear of the individual unit. Thereafter the picked out unit is conveyed off transverse to a working plane (,)and the two resulting web ends are transferred into a directly juxtaposed station (,). There the web ends are fixedly interconnected by welding, glueing or the like. Therefrom a use web arises, which includes only non-defective units since the defective units were previously detected by a sensor (,)and then severed out as described with the aid of a control device (,). This fully automatically working apparatus (,)coils the processed use tape in a store (,)into a roll (,)which is suitable for further processing in a machine.

Apparatus and method for processing a web, more particularly a transponder strip

A tool (8) of a folding device (1) for edge tabs (5) of a material web (2) comprises a conveyance path (19) having a folding surface area (13) for said edge tabs (5) and a further, separate conveyance path (18) for wider edge tabs (4) intended not to be folded at said folding surface area (13). The tool (8) distinguishes the edge tabs (4, 5) by their width and steers the wider edge tabs (4) downwards out of the way prior to attaining the processing conveyance path (19).

Device for processing ply material or the like

From a web of paper a mailing item (10) comprising envelope and contents is printed personalized on a first conveying section (2) in individual stations. After being turned over the web of paper is supplemented, where necessary, by further paper parts, it then being cut to contour laterally and provided with side flaps folded inwards for the envelope. After this, the cut-to-size item is parted as a unit from the web of paper by a cross-cutter (43) and the contents folded on themselves transversely as well as on the cut-to-size item for the envelope. This unit is then diverted at right angles to a second conveying section (3) in which the cover sheets of the envelope are folded open with interposition of the contents, the cover sheets thereby being secured to each other by the side flaps. After this, the envelope opening is closed by the closing flap.

In a transverse grooving tool the groove webs are continuously adjustable with respect to the body in the running direction and can be fixed in any set position and for this purpose sliding guides and clamping means are provided. Adjacent to at least one adjustable working member can also be provided a non-adjustable working member, e.g. a further grooving tool and/or a balancing weight. As the working members are also interchangeable, there are numerous possibilities for reequipping the tool.

Directly following application of a label (3) to the adhesive coating (5) of a backing web (2) by rolling the affixation point (8) non-contact sensing by the sensor (31) of a detector device (30) establishes whether the adhesive coating (5) is not fully covered due to mutual misorientation. In the case of such a misorientation the backing web (2) including substantially all other means of a paper processing line are halted, as a result of which the exposed adhesive coating (5) is unable to soil any further parts of the machine.

A web layer (2) is deflected on conical deflectors (31, 34) in laterally opposite directions, thereby permitting lateral but parallel displacement of the downstream web section (10) with respect ot the upstream web section (6) at low hight extension of the device (1) and at small deflector angles. The deflectors (31, 34) can be separately positionally adjusted in a tumbling motion and are fixed to a support (14) with cardan joint (54).

Device for guiding ply webs of paper or the like

Folding stations are provided successively in a single running direction of an apparatus for the single or z-like folding of lateral tongues of a sheet layer. The first station has an offset rising folding curve for tongue straightening, the second station has a rotating roll for z-shaped prefolding of a tongue, and the third station has juxtaposed folding curves for the finish folding of differently long tongues and the first pressing rolls for the smoothing of the fold breaks. Therefore, very different and complicated folds can be carefully made in a single pass through the apparatus.

Folding apparatus for sheet layers

A plate cylinder (1) for applying hot glue to a paper web comprises distributed circumferentially in a regular pattern a plurality of separate magnet units (22) oriented radially, extending up to its circumferential surface (18) and temperature-resistant up to at least 300.degree. C. which radially oriented outwards like the substantially tubular tool base body (15) are heated and serve to retain one or more separate, flexural letterpress plates.

Processing tool for processing ply material or the like

An apparatus for applying dispensing parts to a support web has a transfer device running synchronously with the web for applying the dispensing parts, a positioning device for the correct position separation and transfer of the dispensing parts to the transfer device and a feed device for supplying a dispensing web to the positioning device. The three devices are independently controllable with respect to their working speeds, so that by speed superimposing any random number of dispensing parts of random size and in random positions can be transferred to the support web.

Apparatus for working layer material

A device for folding layer material, the layer material defining layer sections including at least one folded layer section and a connecting layer section laterally directly connecting to the at least one folded layer section, comprises: a device base; a conveying path for conveying the layer material relative to the device base in a conveying direction along a folding path section; and, a folding member including guiding members for longitudinally folding the layer material from an initial layer state to a folded state only within the folding path section while the layer material is conveyed therethrough. The folding path section defines folding path ends including a beginning end where the layer material initially begins to be folded by partly erecting the at least one folded layer section from the initial layer state with respect to the connecting layer section and with respect to the device base, and a finishing end where the layer material reaches and then maintains the folded state. The guiding members deflect the connecting layer section while simultaneously folding the at least one folded layer section to the folded state from the beginning to the finishing ends. A first guide member engages the layer material on a first side and a second guide member engages the layer material on a second side while opposing the first guide member. The first and second guide members are positionally adjustable about a substantially common guide axis. The folding member can comprise a plow folder.

Processing device for a layer-type material

In a production line both the base frame and also the working area is subdivided into modular assemblable modules, the base unit having three reception positions which can be provided with slide-in working units and receptacles for driving units and a trolley transferring the particular working unit. The working unit, after a control console has moved out of the sliding in path, can be moved in and out parallel to the horizontal separating plane and transversely to the conveying direction and can then be adjusted and locked. Thus, with the same base units a randomly long basic frame can be created for randomly succeeding working stations.
