Blade replacement devices for shaving systems which have at least one blade removably connected to a blade support. The blade replacement devices of the present invention advantageously comprise means for receiving a used blade as it is removed from a razor.

The present invention is directed to a razor comprising a handle, a razor blade unit having one or more razor blades which can be connected to the front end of the handle, and a connecting device for connecting the razor blade unit to the handle, such that the shaving results are improved for normal shaves as well as for specific applications like medical pre-operation shave. The razor blade unit of the present invention is mounted such that it can swivel relative to the handle about a swivel axis which intersects the cutting edge of the razor blade.

It is an object of the present invention to improve the shave performance of a razor of the above mentioned type by providing a pressure sensitive razor design. In addition the handling is improved. A solution for the above mentioned object is characterized in that the resilient connection is shaped in an arcuate line between the handle and the blade unit and the blade unit can be fixed to the connection such that at least one blade is positioned in a plain that is approximately rectangular to a tangent line of the arcuate line of the connection at an end portion where the blade unit can be fixed.

Disposable razor

A wet or safety razor having an elongated handle and a razor blade unit that is adapted to be mounted on the handle by a holder. When the razor blade unit is mounted on the handle, the cutting edges of the razor blades extend essentially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the handle.

To improve the method for fixing protective strands to a razor head, the razor head is provided with a plastic body having an upper side that defines a surface for engaging the skin of the user, with the plastic body also having a front side and a back side. A razor blade unit is disposed in the plastic body. A series of strands are spaced along the length of the blade unit and are fixedly attached directly to said blade unit.

Steel which is particularly useful for making a razor blade of high corrosion resistance contains more than 0.45%, but less than 0.55%, of carbon, 0.4 to 1.0% of silicon, 0.5 to 1.0% of manganese, 12 to 14% of chromium and 1.0 to 1.6% of molybdenum, all by weight, in addition to iron and inevitable impurities, and has a carbide density of 100 to 150 particles per 100 square microns as annealed. The razor blade has a Vickers hardness of at least 620 and a carbide density of 10 to 45 particles per 100 square microns, and preferably has a specific distribution of residual austenite content. The improved properties of the razor blade are achieved by an improved process of heat treatment which includes austenitizing the steel at a temperature of 1075.degree. C. to 1120.degree. C., cooling it to a temperature between -60.degree. C. and -80.degree. C. for hardening it, and tempering it at a temperature of 250.degree. C. to 400.degree. C.

A packaging unit for objects has a first part and a second part connected to the first part, with the object to be packaged arranged between the first and the second parts. The first part is a flat, unshaped plastic foil and the second part is a plastic foil having a receiving pouch for receiving and enclosing the object. The receiving pouch of the second part is shaped exactly according to a surface contour of the object.

A razor head having a plastic body with a rear cover and a front guardbar that define surface points for engaging the skin of a user. A razor blade unit is disposed on a support of the body and has at least one cutting edge. A series of strands extend over and perpendicular to the cutting edge, which protrudes by at least 0.02 mm beyond a tangent plane formed by the skin-engaging surface points of the guardbar and the cover.

A razor head having a plastic body in which is disposed a razor blade unit. The plastic body has a top cover and a front guardbar that define surface points for engaging the skin of a user. At least one of the guardbar and the top cover are provided with at least two comb-like projections.

To reduce the frictional resistance of a wet razor head, especially a razor blade unit thereof, as well as to provide a sharper blade without the risk of injury, there is provided a combination of a protective wire that covers a blade made of a steel strip having a width of less than 5 mm, a thickness between 0.05 and 0.25 mm, and a chromium/molybdenum steel composition having a hardness of greater than 620 HV and a retained austenite content of less than 32%, with the blade being a single piece that has no perforations or holes and that is mounted in a vibration-free manner in a plastic body. The protective wire comprises loops that are spaced greater than 2 mm but less than 5 mm apart and that have a minimum thickness of greater than 0.1 mm to form a protective guard over the razor blade with the effect of a protective foil.

A razor head, especially a razor blade unit of a wet razor, disposed at the front end of a handle. A single or double razor blade is yieldingly mounted in a plastic housing. To improve the spring or yielding mounting of the single or double razor blades, the latter are secured to a blade member that is displaceably mounted in the plastic housing and can be displaced in a direction toward the rear wall of the plastic housing against a spring force.

A razor head, especially a razor blade unit of a wet razor, with the razor head being disposed at the front end of a handle. A single or double razor blade is yeildingly mounted in a plastic housing that is provided with a front guide strip. To provide an improved spring or yielding mounting of the single or double razor blades, these blades are secured to a blade member that is pivotably mounted in the plastic housing so as to be pivotable against a spring force about an axis that extends parallel to the guide strip.
