Process and apparatus for drying a material web. The process includes guiding the material web to at least one heated area having a jacket surface of a cylinder having a diameter of between about 4-10 meters, setting the material web, having a dry content of between about 45-55%, onto the at least one heated area, maintaining the material web in uninterrupted contact with the at least one heated area at least until the material web achieves a firmness sufficient for detaching the material web from the heated area, and detaching the material web from the at least one heated area with a dry content of between about 55%-65%.

Process and device for drying of a material web

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt of a machine, pipe suction apparatus and traversing pipe suction apparatus therefor, the process including performing a zonal conditioning of a plurality of zones across a width of the felt belt by measuring at least one of, fibrous material web cross direction profile; felt belt cross direction profile; and permeability of the felt belt across the width of at least one of the web and the belt. The felt belt is conditioned depending on measuring results obtained for a respective zone. The pipe suction apparatus includes a ceramic body extending at least essentially across the entire width of the felt belt, the ceramic body being provided with a slotted surface by way of which the felt belt is subjectable to vacuum, with a respective effective amount of slotted surface being zonally variably adjustable by way of movable tongues.

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt

Pressing arrangement having two press rolls forming at least one press nip for dewatering a web, and two dewatering belts arranged to be guided through the at least one press nip with the web. The dewatering belts positioned on opposite sides of the web to absorb water. A common guidance path, formed by the dewatering belts guiding the web, is located after the at least one press nip. A separating roll and a lower one of the dewatering belts is arranged to wrap the separating roll along with the web at an end of the common guidance path. An upper one of the dewatering belts is arranged to be guided away from the web in a separation path in a region of the separating roll. Lower dewatering belt and web wrap the separating roll subsequent to the separation path at a wrapping angle of at least about 30&deg;.

Pressing arrangement

In a drying section of a machine for producing a material web such as, in particular, a paper or cardboard web, a pick-up suction roll, in particular a larger pick-up suction roll, is provided between the last pressing nip of a pressing section and a subsequent impingement drying unit, which suction roll removes the material web from a pressing felt guided through the pressing nip or from a transfer belt and transfers it to the impingement drying unit.

Process for determining disturbances of a moisture cross profile of a fibrous material web in a paper making machine, a paper making machine, and a measuring arrangement for measuring the disturbances, the process including guiding the fibrous material web by way of at least one water-permeable belt and collecting and draining off water released from the belt. The water is collected by several sections separated from one another. The process further includes measuring per time unit, the amount of water in each section, wherein the sections extend at right angles to a web running direction over only a partial section of the fibrous material web. The paper making machine includes at least one water-permeable belt, the belt being wrapped around a roll. The measuring arrangement includes a water collection device having the form of one of a trough or channel.

Moisture cross profile

In a method and an associated apparatus for discharging the whitewater from inside the loop of a continuous dewatering wire of a former, specifically a twin wire former in a paper machine the accumulating whitewater is collected by a collection tank, which is located within the loop; the collected whitewater is separated from the air, still inside the loop, by suctioning off of the area above the collection tank and the whitewater is removed from the collection tank through at least one channel that is connected to the collection tank and is located below the collection tank's water level.

Press section of a machine for producing a fiber material, web and process for guiding a fiber material web through the press section. The press section includes at least two double-felted presses arranged in series in a travel direction of the fiber material web. An upstream one of the at least two double-felted presses may include a deflection-controlled shoe press roll and a suction roll, and the deflection-controlled shoe press roll and the suction roll may be arranged to form an upstream press nip. The process may include guiding the fiber material web through a press nip of an upstream one of the at least two double-felted presses formed by a deflection-controlled shoe press roll and a suction roll.

Described is a machine for manufacturing a continuous web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, the machine having a number of rolls that may include press rolls, drying cylinders, suction rolls, or the like. At least one transport belt is guided with the web around the rolls and is characterized by the fact that a metallic screen is guided between the web and the respective roll surface. The metallic screen may be formed of metal, formed as a metallized drying screen, or formed from metal and synthetic threads.

Method includes subjecting fibrous material web to electromagnetic waves in the form of high-frequency waves. Device includes a fibrous material web support that supports travel of fibrous material web and a rotating cylinder. Rotating cylinder receives fibrous material web from fibrous material web support, and fibrous material web support is arranged outside fibrous material web in relation to the surface of the rotating cylinder. At least one electromagnetic wave transmitter is also included. Rotating cylinder conveys fibrous material web past the at least one electromagnetic wave transmitter, electromagnetic wave transmitter produces electromagnetic waves laterally to material fibrous web, and electromagnetic waves balances out moisture variances laterally to fibrous material web by drying moister areas of fibrous material web more intensely than dried areas of fibrous material web.

Method and device for moisture profiling

Drying section of a machine for producing a material web. The drying section includes a support roll with an associated impingement dryer, and at least one straight or curved section forming at least a part of a closed path between a last nip of a press section adjacent the drying section and the support roll. The support roll and the impingement dryer are arranged to guide the material web over the support roll, and, thereby, to subject the material web to at least one of hot air and hot steam impingement. The at least one straight or slightly curved section is structured and arranged to form at least one of an impingement drying section and a transfer foil section.

Finally, a process for drying a fibrous web in an apparatus that includes at least one drying cylinder having an inner chamber and an outer cylinder jacket having an air permeable region, the process including pressurizing the inner chamber of the drying cylinder with air; and guiding the fibrous material web partially around the drying cylinder with a circulating belt wherein the circulating belt presses the fibrous material web against the air permeable portion of the cylinder jacket is described.

Device and method for draining a web in a paper production machine. The device may include a press section having at least one press nip for draining and smoothing the web. The at least one press nip may be arranged to smooth one surface of the web more than its opposite surface and the device may also include a roughening device that roughens the one surface of the web. The method may include guiding the web through a press section of the paper production machine to drain and smooth the web in which the press section include at least one nip, smoothing one surface of the web more than its opposite surface in the at least one nip, and roughening the one surface.
