A method for testing a container () having an interior volume () for tightness, comprising the following steps: providing the container () in a pressure chamber () and reducing pressure within the pressure chamber () or increasing pressure within the container () as far as a predefined test pressure, ascertaining a pressure profile () within the pressure chamber () over time, comparing the pressure profile () to a reference profile () in order to determine whether a leak is present within the container (), wherein ambient conditions of the container () and/or the pressure chamber () are monitored and the reference profile () is adapted to changing ambient conditions.

Method for testing a container for tightness

The invention relates to a testing device for testing the tightness of containers (), comprising a supply unit () for supplying the containers (), a testing unit () for testing the tightness of the containers (), a diverting unit () for diverting tested tight containers (), and a discharge unit () for discharging containers (') tested to be untight in the testing unit (). The testing unit () has at least one individual testing chamber () for testing individual containers and at least one multiple testing chamber () for receiving a plurality of containers in order to simultaneously test multiple containers ().
