A diver's rescue apparatus includes a fillable buoyancy element and a breathing bag into which respiratory gas mixture is metered from a compressed gas source is to be expanded to a range of use for greater diving depths, for example up to 150 to 200 m. It is to be possible to carry out the then necessary supply of the apparatus wearer with physiologically adapted respiratory gas mixtures varying during the ascent by simple means in order to minimize the space requirement and weight of the apparatus as well as its trouble proneness and cost of maintenance. A first compressed gas tank containing a gas mixture for great depths to the breathing bag via a fixed throttle 7, while a second compressed gas tank containing a gas mixture for small depths is so connected via a separate pressure reducer and a downstream second fixed throttle.

Diver's rescue apparatus

A gas mixing device comprises a plurality of gas lines for the conveyance of the separate gases to be mixed, each of which has a pressure regulator with a pressure control. A common gas mixture line is connected to each of the gas lines downstream of the pressure controls therein and a constant admission pressure regulator is provided in the mixture line. Control pressure is provided from a control pressure source which, for example, may be at the tapping of the gas mixture line. The control pressure is connected to each of the pressure controls for the pressure regulators and the gas lines and this control pressure is regulated by control means which may be in response to the pressure in each of the individual gas lines or in response to the pressure in the common gas mixture line downstream of the constant admission pressure regulator means.

Gas mixing device for breath-protecting, diving, medical and laboratory

A deep sea diving circulation system for a diver at a diving depth from a station above the water level, comprises a closed respiratory gas delivery line from the station to the diver and a return line from the diver to the station. A CO.sub.2 absorber is arranged in the delivery line above the water level along with means for sensing the value of the oxygen in the delivery line and for supplying a correct oxygen replacement. The respiratory gas is circulated by a compressor which is capable of producing the necessary pressure difference for the level of operation of the diver in respect to the surface. A bypass line is arranged to connect across the inlet and outlet to the compressor and the flow cross-section therethrough is controlled by the pressure in the line circulating system. Cylinders with pressurized breathing gas are connected into the circulating line system before the diver's helmet through a pressure reducer having an after pressure lower than the pressure in the line system before the diver's helmet. The carbon dioxide control device is arranged in a bypass line in the system located above the water surface and so is an oxygen control device. A pressure reducer is arranged in the circulating line system and it is actuated by the diving depth pressure.
