A drive train of a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine, an electric motor and a coupling device. The coupling device includes a first coupling unit allocated to the internal combustion engine and a second coupling unit allocated to the electric motor. By way of the coupling device, the internal combustion engine and/or the electric motor can be connected for drive purposes with a common drive shaft to drive at least one wheel of the motor vehicle. The first coupling unit and the second coupling unit are separate components which can be coupled together automatically by a clutch depending on a difference between a rotation speed of the internal combustion engine and a rotation speed of the electric motor.

A method for operating a hybrid drive in a vehicle with an internal combustion engine and at least one electric machine connected thereto which is in connection with at least one energy storage device including operating the internal combustion engine is operated in overload mode in at least one preferably exceptional operating situation of the hybrid drive in order to avoid power losses at low loading state of the energy storage device.

Method for operating an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a method for operating a hybrid vehicle with a drive train which comprises an internal combustion engine driven by diesel fuel and at least one electric driving machine. In order to reduce the nitrogen oxide and exhaust particulate emissions it is provided that the internal combustion engine is operated with an alternative diesel combustion method in at least one operating range of the vehicle and the electric driving machine is switched in.

Method for operating a hybrid vehicle

In an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger comprising a charge-air pipe and an exhaust gas recirculation pipe for a partial stream of the exhaust gas, a nozzle-diffuser unit is provided in the charge-air pipe, into which unit the recirculation pipe opens in a passage of restricted cross-section. In order to achieve high turbine efficiency as well as high exhaust quality, it is provided in the invention that the exhaust gas turbocharger be configured at least as a twin-entry unit, and that at least two exhaust gas flow paths be conducted separately to the entrance into the exhaust gas turbocharger, and that an exhaust gas recirculation branch depart from each exhaust gas flow path, and further that a control valve be positioned in each recirculation branch for regulation of the exhaust gas recirculation.

Internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger

A propulsion system includes an internal combustion engine predominantly operating in a steady-state mode and a driving engine operating in a transient mode, which act on the output shaft of a planetary gear train by first and second drive shafts. To obtain independent speed and torque values at the driven shaft, an additional transiently operating engine is provided which has a fixed r.p.m. ratio with the first drive shaft or the driven shaft of the planetary gear train. The two transient engines are configured as hydraulic engines or electric engines connected to a control device, a unit being provided for hydraulic or electric power flow between the two transient engines, which in turn is provided with an energy storage.

Hybrid drive system

In order to utilize recycling of exhaust gases at high engine loads in an internal-combustion engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger, optionally with a charge cooler, as well as an exhaust gas recycling valve which is arranged within a connecting pipe through which a partial exhaust gas stream flows, the connecting pipe, in the direction of the flow, branching from the exhaust pipe upstream of the exhaust gas turbine and connecting into the charge pipe downstream of the exhaust gas turbine, an apparatus is employed which injects water into the partial exhaust gas stream flowing the connecting pipe at operating temperature and at high load operation of the internal-combustion engine.
