A method of advancing material through a conveying conduit and blowing the conveying conduit free of material after conclusion of material conveyance includes the following steps: passing a conveying gas through a conveying conduit with a first flow rate for transporting the material therein; after conclusion of the conveying step, passing the conveying gas through a first gas inlet of an injector; drawing additional gas into the injector through a second inlet thereof by the conveying gas entering the injector through the first inlet; and passing a mixture of the conveying gas and the additional gas with a second flow rate, which is greater that the first flow rate, from the outlet of the injector through the conveying conduit for blowing the conveying conduit free of material.

Method of blowing conveying conduits free of material after conveyance

A loading apparatus for bulk material includes a loading tube having a longitudinal axis, an outer tube surface, an inner tube surface and a material discharge end; a deflection body having an outer body surface and being arranged generally coaxially with the loading tube at the material discharge end thereof. The deflection body is situated partially inside and partially outside of the loading tube. The outer body surface and the inner tube surface together define an annular channel surrounding the longitudinal axis. The outer body surface and the inner tube surface each has a terminal peripheral portion together defining a circumferential, deflecting and accelerating duct forming part of the annular channel and terminating in an annular outlet slot surrounding the longitudinal axis. The terminal peripheral portion of the outer body surface is oriented away from the longitudinal axis such as to effect a radially outward flow of the bulk material from the loading tube. Further, a securing device attaches the deflection body to the loading tube.

A device is proposed which has a nozzle, in particular constructed to resemble a Laval nozzle, as a control device for setting a prescribed fluid mass flow and in which for the purpose of varying the flowing gas quantity the nozzle cross section or the nozzle geometry can be variably set during operation.

An apparatus for mixing powdered or coarse-grained bulk materials includes a first mixing device (4) with a second mixing device (11) lying below it, each of them having cylindrical mixing containers (2, 12) with downward tapering mass flow hoppers (3, 13). The bulk material from the upper mixing device (4) is conveyed via gravity pipes (9, 10, 10', 28, 29) into the second mixing device (11), which concentrically surrounds a third mixing device (6). Outlet apertures (27) are provided in the third mixing device (6) to ensure a constant discharge mass flow through the total lower outlet area (25).

Apparatus for mixing powdered or coarse-grained bulk materials

A moving bed reactor for the treatment of fluid in a countercurrent process includes a reactor vessel having, in an upper region thereof, an inlet for receiving particulate material and an outlet for discharging treated fluid, the reactor vessel also having, in a lower region thereof, a downward tapering first funnel leading to an outlet, the first funnel guiding the particulate material to the outlet for discharge from the reactor vessel, the first funnel being formed by wall sections which mutually overlap in louvre fashion to create slot-shaped passages for the fluid to be treated to enter the vessel. A second funnel is provided, surrounding the first funnel and communicating with the slot-shaped passages, the second funnel having an inlet for receiving the fluid to be treated, there being provided an annular canal between the second funnel and the first funnel at the lower regions thereof, which annular canal communicates with the particulate discharge outlet so that any particulate material which enters the second funnel by the slot-shaped passages is guided to the particulate discharge outlet through the annular canal.

Moving-bed reactor, in particular for the treatment of flue gases

A rotary slide valve is proposed, in which a cylindrical rotary plug is arranged in a cylindrical bore of a housing. A round passage bore in the rotary plug allows, on the one hand, a connection without jolting in all conveying directions of the likewise aligned first and second connection lines and a connection of the first connection line to a third connection line with a branching off at an angle without a change in terms of area of the passage cross section. In order to achieve a congruent transition of the connection cross sections of the first connection line with the passage bore through the rotary plug even in the case of branching off at an angle, these two bore holes of equal dimensions meet inside the rotary plug on a planar elliptical cutting surface of a median line of the angle. In the case of straight passage through the switch, the passage bore connects the connection lines, an adapted bore hole transition being provided in the second connection line from the exit opening on a cylinder envelope surface of the rotary plug to the round pipe diameter (D) to achieve a passage without jolting in both conveying directions in the second connection line.

Rotary slide valve

A ring seal on moved machine parts, in particular for use on a rotary slide valve, is proposed, which is formed by a pressurized annular channel (11) with a ring seal (12). In a connection flange (10), for this purpose an annular channel (11), parallel to the center axis (19), is formed with a pressure space (15) for pressurization of the ring seal (12).

A device for closing a pipe branch, especially for closing either orifice of a Y-shaped distributor connection, which is to close the inflow of the unoccupied flow-off in a gastight and watertight manner, is proposed. At the same time, there will be the possibility of mixing the medium for all the connections. To achieve this object, for this purpose either branching-off junction connection is made closeable by means of a common rotary plug, the rotary plug being designed as an oblique cylinder section (see the drawing for this).

A device for blending dust, powder or coarse particle bulk materials, having a first upper blending device with a cylindrical blending container and a connecting discharge funnel which tapers conically towards a second lower blending device. The second lower blending device having a cylindrical container and a connecting discharge hopper which tapers conically towards the bottom to form an upper and lower mass flow silo. There is a blending pipe installed in the upper blending device which extends approximately to the lower end of the upper discharge funnel. The blending pipe contains inlet openings throughout its whole length for bulk material wherein the concentrically installed blending pipe is vertically subdivided into gravity pipes arranged side by side. Each pipe contains several inlet openings arranged above one another. The blending pipe is constructed cylindrically in the lower end region with the bulk material being transported back via a conveying pipe.

Apparatus for mixing bulk materials in dust, powder or coarse grained

A device for metering bulk materials with a vertical axis having a rotor featuring radially extending paddles about the vertical axis, and a cover plate, constructed to prevent especially coarse particle materials from being scraped or squashed between the rotor and the cover plate. For this purpose a ring segment type opening is provided in the cover plate, and a recess is provided in the under surface of the cover adjacent the opening to provide a space for producing material slopes underneath, whereby the limiting edge between the inlet opening of the cover plate and the rotor paddles forms an acute angle.

Device for metered handling of bulk materials

A counterflow separator is provided having a feed pipe for bulk material opening into the top of a chamber housing. A discharge conduit radial extends from the top of the housing and an inlet conduit for classifying air extends radially into the housing at its lower portion. The housing is provided with a wall section below the orifice of the feed pipe, which section expands conically outwardly into a collecting hopper. The conical wall section permits the design of a braking stretch longer than its own length, thus reducing the requirement for classifying air, without causing a deterioration in the classifying quality.

Process and apparatus for pneumatic or hydraulic transport of bulk material in a conveying direction through a pipeline by means of over or underpressure, in which components are provided for monitoring the pressure prevailing at a plurality of successive points along the pipeline, providing a plurality of sources of a pure gas or liquid each at a pressure corresponding to the pressure prevailing at an associated point along the pipeline, and supplying the pure gas or liquid from each source to the point along the pipeline which succeeds, in the conveying direction, the associated point for that source, while preventing any fluid flow from the pipeline to each source.

Process and equipment for pneumatic and hydraulic transport of bulk

An air classifier having an upright housing open at both ends in which a pipe section is concentrically located to define a first annular passage closed at its upper end. A feed conduit attached to a pneumatic delivery system is concentrically located within the pipe section defining a second annular passage open at both ends. A cover is mounted over the upper end of the housing defining a dispersing chamber for bulk material. The dispersed material falls through the second passage, beyond the lower end of the pipe into an annular chamber where the components are separated by an air stream moving upwardly. The heavier particles falls and the lighter particle travel with the upward air.
