A pressure exchanger transferring pressure energy from a liquid in a first liquid system to a liquid in a second liquid system, having a housing with inlet and outlet connection openings for each liquid and a rotor arranged in the housing for rotation about a longitudinal axis. Through rotor channels are arranged around the rotor longitudinal axis with openings on each axial end face of the rotor. The rotor channels are arranged for connection through opposing flow openings facing the housing to the connection openings of the housing. During rotor rotation high pressure liquid and low pressure liquid are alternately introduced into the respective systems. Liquid flowing to the rotor through the openings generates a circumferential force (c) for driving the rotor, and starting at or following the openings a flow guiding configuration formed as a rotor channel flow diverting contour is arranged in the rotor channels.

Channel form for a rotating pressure exchanger

A valve for switching over liquid paths, particularly for pressure exchanger installations with tubular pressure exchanger chambers () through which an alternating flow occurs, in which a rotatable control element () having a plurality of flow paths is mounted in a housing (), which in turn comprises a plurality of connection opening () connected to a first pipe system and to an end of at least one pressure exchanger. Another end of the pressure exchanger is connected to a second pipe system through a valve. A motorized drive shaft () rotates the control element so as to alternately connect the control element flow paths to openings inside housing (). Oncoming flow to the control element may come from an axial direction or from a radial direction, and outgoing flow from the control element occurs in the axial direction.

Valve unit for pressure exchanger installations

A multistage centrifugal pump in which each stage includes a one-piece or multi-piece housing and an impeller disposed therein. The pump stages are arranged between an inlet end member and an outlet end member and retained therebetween by connectors so as to be connected to a flow-guiding system. All impellers are positioned on a single pump shaft that is supported by at least two pump bearings. One end of the pump shaft is provided with a device for receiving a connector of a drive unit, and outer support members are disposed at mounting points adjacent the end members in order to mount the centrifugal pump in its installation location. The pump shaft () is supported by two two pump bearings (), with the maximum distance (L) between confronting sides of the two pump bearings () being less than or equal to a minimum structural stage height (L) multiplied by the number of pump stages (-) minus 1.

Multistage centrifugal pump

A pressure exchanger system having at least two tubular chambers, in which a plurality of reversing valves reverse the flow paths of fluid flows through the at least two tubular chambers. At least one driven reversing valve alternately reverses the flow paths between a supply source, which supplies a high-energy high-pressure fluid, and the tubular chambers. In reversing the liquid flows and shutting off previously open flow paths, the driven reversing element in the reversing valve executes a discontinuous or variable movement sequence.

Pressure exchanger system

A valve for switching fluid paths, particularly for pressure exchanger installations with tubular chambers through which fluid flows in an alternating manner, including a rotatable closing element () provided with a motorized drive shaft () and arranged inside a housing () having a plurality of connections () for connecting lines leading to a pipe system and to a respective end of at least one pressure exchanger. Another end of each pressure exchanger is connected through a valve arrangement to a second pipe system. A splitter () provided with a plurality of overflow paths () is arranged inside the housing (); mouths of the overflow paths are located on two axial end faces () and on the circumference of the splitter (), and a rotatable, disk-shaped control element () is arranged in a sealing manner at each end face of the splitter ().

Flow-reversing valve

A centrifugal pump with an impeller which has a single helically-formed blade and which is not sensitive to sand abrasion or seizing of the impeller is achieved by providing the impeller ( ) with a shielding plate ( ) arranged on the suction side which transitions from an axial course given at the suction inlet of the impeller into a radial course, by providing that the blade entry angle (&bgr; ) in the area which is in danger of cavitation in the event of an abrupt onset of flow is at least 5&deg; smaller than the angle of incident flow (&bgr; ), and thereafter the blade angle &bgr; in the axial region of a meridian section through the impeller ( ) increases at least to the magnitude of the blade exit angle (&bgr; ), and finally a blade angle (&bgr;) exceeding the blade exit angle (&bgr; ) in the radial area of the meridian section decreases back down to the magnitude of the blade exit angle (&bgr; ).

Centrifugal pump

A housing for surrounding the impeller of a propeller pump, the housing having a gap ring disposed in a housing bore in the interior thereof, the gap ring being open at its circumference and in the uninstalled state having an outside diameter which is greater than the diameter of the bore which receives it, while in the installed state being pressed with bias against the housing bore which accommodates it due to the reduction of the ring's diameter. The gap ring of the invention which is open at its circumference advantageously reduces the cost of manufacture and assembly of gap rings for propeller pumps.

Housing part for a propeller pump

An impeller of a centrifugal pump for transporting dirty liquids has transport elements, for example back-vanes or grooves disposed on the pressure side of a cover disk. The transport elements are arranged asymmetrically and are limited to one arc sector of the cover disk to create a transverse stream that rotates with the impeller. Solids which have penetrated into the space to the side of the wheel are carried out by this stream in the direction of the transport elements.
