An airbag device for a vehicle, including an airbag package, a receptacle, and a flexible protective covering for the airbag. The flexible protective covering includes at least two flexible, sheet-like protective elements secured to the receptacle. The flexible, sheet-like protective elements are connected to one another via at least one separable tearing line. The flexible, sheet-like protective elements flank the airbag during initial inflation and expansion of the airbag. A flexible guide layer is arranged between the protective covering and the airbag package. The flexible guide layer is permanently connected to a first of the sheet-like protective elements, such that the first sheet-like protective element, together with the guide layer, forms a composite layer flanking the airbag during inflation.

Airbag device for a motor vehicle

One embodiment of the invention relates to an air bag module, in particular for a knee air bag. The air bag module includes an air bag housing, a air bag cushion, a tubular gas generator, a air bag cushion holding device, and a gas guiding device, to which the tubular gas generator is fastened. The gas guiding device is integrally formed with the air bag cushion holding device.

Knee air bag module

A front-passenger airbag module includes a gas generator, a diffuser, a self-supporting airbag, and an airbag housing. To reduce the development costs of a new airbag system, a component system that includes the airbag, the diffuser, the gas generator, and an arched airbag holder, which is arranged between the airbag housing and the gas generator and which is at least partially enclosed by the lower section of the self-supporting airbag.
