The display device with touch sensor according to the invention consists of an electrochromic cell known per se or a liquid crystal cell, which is located between two transparent plates, a transparent cover plate and a transparent support plate. A radiation source whose light enters the cover plate and illuminates it is arranged on at least one of the end faces of the transparent cover plate. The present invention relates to a device for generating light signals, in particular traffic lights. The device according to the invention contains a housing with at least one opening, which is closed by a plate, the absorption of which can be controlled electrically, there being located in the interior of the housing behind the opening a diffuser element, which reflects incident light through the plate. Preferred switched states of the plate are either black (absorption over the entire spectral region of visible light) and colored transparent (slight absorption in specific spectral regions) or transparent (no absorption over the entire spectral region of visible light). The device according to the invention is used to generate light signals by virtue of the fact that the ambient light strikes the plate and, depending on switched state, is absorbed entirely, partially or not at all by the plate. The light fraction transmitted through the plate is reflected by the diffuser plate located behind the plate and transmitted a second time through the plate, and can then be perceived from outside.

An electrochromic device comprising a pair of glass or plastic plates or plastic films of which at least one plate or film, preferably both plates or films, are provided on in each case one side with an electrically conductive coating, of which at least one plate or film and its conductive coating is transparent, of which the other may be mirrored, and of which in the case of at least one of the two plates or films the electrically conductive layer can be divided into separate, individually contacted area segments and the conductive coatings can be connected at at least one point to an electrical conductor, where the plates or films are joined together via a sealing ring on the sides of their conductive coating, and the volume formed by the two plates or films and the sealing ring is filled with an electrochromic medium which comprises at least one reducible electrochromic compound OX and at least one oxidizable electrochromic compound RED , in which the electrochromic medium also comprises a further reducible or an oxidizable electrochromic compound OX or RED respectively whose reduction or oxidation potential respectively has a value which is not greater than the reduction potential of OX or the oxidation potential of RED , is distinguished by improved switching behavior.

The invention relates to an electrochromic contrast plate which is either arranged as a discrete unit in front of the screen or is connected to the outer surface of the screen through a common sheet, consisting of a pair of transparent glass or plastic sheets which are provided, on one side each, with an electroconductive, transparent coating, and which are joined together on the sides of their conductive coating via a sealing ring, and in which the volume formed by the two sheets and the sealing ring is filled with an electrochronic medium, characterized in that the electrochromic medium is a liquid, a gel or a polymer. The invention furthermore relates to an electrochromic contrast plate with integrated touch screen which has a larger base area than the area of the screen, and, at at least one of the faces of the outer sheet (outer plate) of the electrochromic contrast plate, a radiation source is arranged whose light enters the outer plate and illuminates it, and, at the inner sheet (carrier plate), in the region which projects beyond the screen area, a photodetector is mounted in whose photosensitive solid-angle region part or all of the carrier plate is located, if it projects beyond the screen area. The invention relates to a method and a device for throwing balls with specific throwing parameters with the aid of a pendulum. The present invention relates to a process for producing and correlating light microscope images and spectroscopic data resolved according to wavelength of a sample by scanning individual elements of the sample surface to be imaged once or twice with a confocal scanning light microscope, launching a portion of the light from the imaging beam path into a spectrometer and correlating the image data with the spectroscopic data by storing the spectroscopic data in a two-dimensional area, with one dimension being used to store the measured spectrum of the individual elements and the second dimension being activated by means of the light intensity diffusely reflected by the scanned elements or by means of a criterion obtained from the total data of the sample image by image processing. The advantage of said process is that the potential of a confocal scanning light microscope and of the various spectroscopic processes may be fully exploited.
