A combined mixing and deflection unit includes a flow conduit for a medium flowing in a given direction. The flow conduit has a bend region, a given direction downstream of the bend region as seen in the given flow direction, and a cross section. A guide configuration is disposed in the bend region for deflecting the flowing medium from a main flow direction. The guide configuration defines a plane aligned approximately parallel to the given direction downstream of the bend region. The guide configuration has openings formed therein being evenly distributed over the cross section of the flow conduit.

Combined mixing and deflection unit

A flow duct conducts a gaseous second fluid medium in a given flow direction and has a given cross-sectional area and a given hydraulic diameter. A combined feed and mixing device for introducing a first fluid medium into the second fluid medium in the flow duct and for mixing the fluid media includes at least one tube conducting the first fluid medium and having from 0.05 to 10 feed orifices per m.sup.2 of the given cross-sectional area. A mixing insert disposed downstream of the at least one feed orifice in the given flow direction is spaced apart from the feed orifices by a distance of from 0.05 to 3 times the given hydraulic diameter. The mixing insert has mixing elements being small relative to the given hydraulic diameter and being disposed in mutually parallel rows in a plane oriented at an angle to the given flow direction. The mixing elements of each of the rows are inclined relative to a plane in the same direction to one another and in opposite direction to the mixing elements of each adjacent row.

Combined feed and mixing device

An apparatus for separating water and steam in a water-steam mixture includes two collectors being disposed horizontally at different heights and being connected together by a connecting pipe. In addition to the connecting pipe, the first collector situated at the bottom has an inlet pipe for the water-steam mixture and as well as a water outlet pipe for the separated water. The second collector lying thereabove includes a steam outlet pipe for the separated steam, in addition to the connecting pipe. The apparatus, which works in accordance with the gravity separation principle, is particularly thermally resilient and therefore permits reliable operation even with large temperature gradients.

Apparatus for separating water and steam

A static mixer distributes substances introduced into a flow duct as homogeneously as possible in a flow medium. The intention is to achieve complete intermixing over the shortest possible path distance. The static mixer includes a multiplicity of deflection elements which are small in relation to the diameter of the flow duct. The deflection elements are disposed in mutually parallel rows aligned transversely to the axis of symmetry of the flow duct. The deflection elements of each row are inclined equidirectionally in a direction parallel to the row and in counterdirection to the deflection elements of the respectively directly adjacent rows. The static mixer can be used for gaseous and liquid media.
