A sensor insertion assembly comprising a sensor cartridge having an insertion needle and a sensor within a sterile capsule. The sensor insertion assembly further comprises an inserter comprising a chamber for receiving the sensor cartridge, wherein the inserter further comprises an insertion mechanism operable for actuating the insertion needle for inserting the sensor into a subject. The sensor cartridge is removable from the chamber. The sensor cartridge is operable for shielding the insertion needle upon removal of the sensor cartridge from the chamber.

A protective container for holding a reusable control part of a transcutaneous sensor system for detecting at least one analyte in a bodily fluid is disclosed. The control part includes at least one coupling, which has at least one sensor coupling for connection to at least one transcutaneous sensor. The protective container has at least one container housing. The control part can be held in the container housing. The container housing is adapted to shield the control part from environmental influences. The container housing also has at least one connector which can be connected to the coupling and seals the latter in a media-tight fashion.

A method is provided for controlling a hand-held analysis device for analyzing a body fluid in which in each case at least one test means for single use is automatically provided in consecutive measuring cycles by means of a control device where each measuring cycle in a measuring mode of the control device is triggered by a start actuation. Hand held analysis device for analyzing a body fluid and a control method therefor

A portable medical system is provided for the purposes of analysis and/or medication, the system having at least one of a medical monitoring device, an analysis device and a medication device. The portable medical system comprises at least one display element comprising at least one organic light-emitting diode display. An optimization device can be provided that comprises a brightness sensor and is configured to optimize the brightness, contrast and/or power consumption of the at least one display element. Furthermore, a monitoring device can be provided which monitors the functionality of the display element. Faults in the display element can be detected in this way, and a corresponding warning can be output to a person using the portable medical system.

Analysis system with user-friendly display element

A test tape for analyzing body fluids is provided comprising a flexible carrier tape and a plurality of test fields arranged spaced apart thereon for the detection of an analyte in the body fluid. The carrier tape is provided with indicator areas to register the distance and/or determine the position of the test tape or its components during tape transport.

Test tape and analytical system

A test tape unit with a flexible carrier tape that can be wound forwardly by a tape drive is provided. The carrier tape includes a plurality of analytical test fields for the application of body fluid that are each applied in an associated tape section. Each tape section has a plurality of position markers for different functional positions that can be scanned by means of a tape sensor and can thereby be individually identified by measured quantity.
