Analysis and compensation circuit for an inductive displacement sensor

A circuit arrangement and method for redundantly supplying current to a downstream load are provided. The circuit arrangement includes a first current path including a first switch element to which a first voltage is applied on the input side, a second current path including a second switch element to which a second input voltage is applied on the input side, a first control device which is connected to the first current path and used to control the first switch element, a second control device which is connected to the second current path and used to control the second switch element, and a common output terminal of the first and second current paths, from which a load supply voltage is emitted. In a normal operating state, the first control device holds the first switch element in a let-through state and the second control device holds the second switch element in a let-through state, and in an abnormal operating state, depending on electrical properties of the first current path or the second current path, the control device which is located in the current path having weaker electrical properties transfers the switch element in the current path into a blocking state.

A surge protection circuit that can be used, in particular, for monitoring and protecting a diagnostic interface, such as, for example, the SAE J 1708 diagnostic interface. A shared surge detection device, which generates a switch-off threshold voltage, receives the input signals of two input lines with the help of a diode combination. When a surge condition occurs in at least one input voltage, the surge detection device places one of the MOS field-effect transistors connected into the input line in a non-conductive state so that a high-resistance interrupt of the input signal lines, connected on the output side to an integrated interface circuit, is produced. In normal operation, i.e., when no surge condition occurs, the two MOS field-effect transistors produce a low-resistance, i.e., basically no-loss, conduction of the input signals in both directions.

Surge protection circuit, in particular for inputs of integrated circuits

An apparatus for monitoring at least one sensor which has at least two terminals comprises first switching means and switchable means. A voltage can be applied to the first terminal of the sensor by actuation of the first switching means and a current can be established through the sensor by actuation of the first switching means and the switchable means. The apparatus also includes an analysis circuit with which at least peak voltage values can be determined from the signals generated by the sensor and conveyed to a calculation unit. Also connected to the sensor is a voltage divider which generates a signal which is also conveyed to the calculation unit. As a function of the actuation of the first switching means and switchable means, it is possible in the calculation unit, based on the peak voltage values conveyed to it, to identify a first faulty behavior of the sensor and to determine the resistance of the sensor. A determination is also made in the calculation unit, based on the signal generated with the aid of the voltage divider, as to whether a shunt or short circuit exists between the sensor and a further sensor or, for example, a supply line.
