A method for sensing travel by a travel-sensing arrangement for a brake system, wherein the travel-sensing arrangement has a first magnetic angle sensor, and the method includes determining a first field strength in a first direction and determining a second field strength in a second direction by the first angle sensor, wherein the travel-sensing arrangement has a second magnetic angle sensor which is arranged at a predetermined distance from the first angle sensor, and the method further includes determining a first field strength in a first direction and determining a second field strength in a second direction by the second angle sensor. A travel-sensing arrangement, to a brake system having a travel-sensing arrangement, to a motor-vehicle and to a use of the travel-sensing arrangement and the method in a brake system.

Disclosed is an arrangement for detecting rotational speed of a wheel or any other rotating body by a sensor (), which is coupled via a magnetic field to an encoder () that rotates with the rotating body. If a slot between sensor element (S, S) and encoder () becomes too small in the prior art arrangements, flipping and, hence, doubling of the measured rotational speed of the wheel can occur. This caused problems in safety devices of a vehicle, which require a correct indication of the wheel rotational speed for proper operation. To improve the tolerance with respect to the mounting position of the known arrangements, two separated signal paths (S, f; S, f) are provided with sensor elements (S, S) of differing sensitivity. The signal paths (S, f; S, f) are designed so that a signal path (S, f) is always available, which is provided with a maximum rate of sensitivity so that, in the undisturbed normal case, minimum image defects of the encoder track () are achieved, simultaneously with maximum air slots, while at the same time there is always an observing signal path (S, f), whose sensitivity is rated in such a way that flipping is safely prevented in all magnetic conditions.

A sensor and method for determining at least one internal parameter for an active sensor in a special mode of operation. Disclosed is an arrangement for the intrinsically safe detection of movements of a body, such as a wheel. The arrangement includes a magnetic encoder () and a sensor (), the magnetic encoder () moving with the body and is magnetically coupled to at least two sensor elements (S, S) of the sensor () via a magnetic air gap. The sensor () has at least two mutually separate signal paths (S, fl; S, f) which have at least one of the sensor elements (S, S) and a signal conditioning stage (). A primary measuring signal path (S, f) is constructed so that during normal operation represents an output signal the basic frequency of the encoder movement or the temporal profile of the output signal have patterns. The temporal occurrence of the patterns correspond to the basic relative speed between the sensor () and the pole pairs of the encoder () which are detected by the sensor.

Active sensor for switching over into a special operating mode, wherein the sensor has at least one sensor element, one evaluation circuit and two connecting lines, each with a terminal for transmitting the sensor information, wherein a supply voltage of the sensor is applied to the two connecting lines, wherein the sensor comprises a switchover module with which it is possible to switch over between a normal operating mode and a special operating mode by reversing the polarity of the supply voltage which is applied to the two terminals.
