A film is shown and described which contains 10 to 50 wt. % of a component A and 50 to 90 wt. % of a component B, based on the sum of the components A and B, component A being selected from the group consisting of polymers that are obtainable from ring-opening polymerization and have a glass transition temperature (Tg) lower than −30° C. and component B being selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic aliphatic copolyesters and mixtures thereof, and the film having a total thickness of 1 to 200 μm.

Biologically degradable film

A process is presented and described for the production of moldings, comprising the steps of (a) providing a polymer composition comprising from 1 to 99% by weight of polyhydroxyalkanoate and from 1 to 99% by weight of starch-containing polymer; (b) homogenizing the polymer composition with use of thermal and/or mechanical energy; (c) introducing the polymer composition into a mold; (d) molding the molding in the mold; and (e) removing the molding from the mold. The process described is in particular suitable for the production of hard capsules.

Method for producing moulded parts

A polymer composition is presented and described and includes, based on the total weight of the polymer composition, the following components: a. from 15 to 70% by weight of PLLA, b. from 0.1 to 15% by weight of PDLA, c. from 5 to 40% by weight of polyester, and d. from 5 to 40% by weight of organic or inorganic filler. These polymer compositions can be biodegradable, comprise mainly bio-based carbon, and have an increased heat deflection temperature. These polymer compositions can moreover be used in specific processes in order to produce molded parts, films, or fibers which by virtue of their high heat deflection temperature can also be used as containers for coffee-preparation systems.

Polymer composition containing PLLA and PDLA

The invention relates to a polymer compound which, based on the total weight of the polymer compound, comprises at least the following components: (a) 5 to 50 wgt.-% destructed starch and/or starch derivative, (b) 20 to 70 wgt.-% aliphatic-aromatic copolymer, (c) 10 to 50 wgt.-% polyhydroxyalkanoate and (d) 3 to 25 wgt.-% polyactic acid. Such polymer compounds are characterized by a high ratio of bio-based carbon and exhibit no significant embrittlement or worsening of the mechanical properties profile, despite the presence of increased volumes of polyhydroxyalkanoate, even after storage. The invention further relates to production methods for the polymer compound according to the invention, and use thereof in the production of films, molded parts or fibers.
