In a variable exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas turbine and a compressor with a variable vane structure wherein the exhaust gas turbocharger comprises a housing and a compressor wheel which is connected to an exhaust gas turbine wheel via a shaft, the compressor has a radial inflow flow passage in which a variable vane structure or throttle device is arranged upstream of the compressor wheel and another vane structure is arranged in the radial flow passage downstream of the compressor wheel in the direction of flow.

Variable exhaust gas turbocharger

An exhaust-gas turbocharger in an internal combustion engine having a compressor in the induction tract and an exhaust-gas turbine in the exhaust-gas line wherein the exhaust-gas turbine has at least two spiral ducts which in each case open into a radial flow inlet passage. Arranged in the radial flow inlet passage is a guide cascade ring which is disposed between two axially delimiting walls. One of the walls is designed to be axially displaceable and adapted to accommodate the vanes of the guide cascade ring. The wall is displaceable axially outward to such an extent that the vanes of the radial guide cascade ring are no longer in contact with the wall and there is a direct, unobstructed flow path to an outflow duct in the exhaust-gas turbine.

Exhaust-gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine

In an air compressor, particularly for an internal combustion engine, which has a compressor housing with a flow duct structure and a recirculation arrangement including a bypass structure for recirculation some of the air entering the compressor wheel, a recirculating ring is arranged in the bypass flow structure around the compressor wheel and the ring has a plurality of flow passages distributed uniformly around its circumference with inflow orifices at the radial inner end in communication with the compressor flow duct and outflow orifice at the radial outer end in communication with a by-pass flow space.

Exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine

An exhaust-gas turbocharger turbine of an internal combustion engine is provided with a spiral guide passage arranged in a turbine housing, a turbine impeller, a flow gap be ween the guide passage and the turbine impeller, and guide blades forming a guide cascade. The guide cascade with the guide blades projects axially from a support, arranged so as to be displaceable in the axial direction in the turbine housing, in such a way that the guide blades, in normal operation, are mounted in recesses of a housing wall part of the turbine housing, the recesses, in the form of a female piece, forming a mating profile shape for the guide blades. In braking operation of the internal combustion engine, the guide blades project into the flow gap during an axial displacement of the support. The device with actuation for the braking operation can be fitted as a complete module into the turbine spiral.

Exhaust gas turbocharger turbine

A membrane module for selective gas separation includes one or more separation units stacked one on the other, and at least one of interposed frame plates or stack-end frame plates. Each separation unit includes a support plate with a separation gas receiving structure and at least one corresponding gas separating membrane. The frame plates having a gas mixture flow chamber structure. Each separating unit and the frame plates contain (1) gas-mixture connecting channel structures in a first and a second side area formed by overlapping openings in the plates and extending in a stacking direction, which are in fluid connection with the gas mixture flow chamber structures; and (2) separation gas connection channel structures in a third and fourth side area, which are in fluid connection with the separation gas receiving structure or structures.

Membrane module for selective gas separation

An exhaust gas turbine portion of a vehicle engine turbocharger is provided with at least one variable guide-blade cascade with guide blades in a nozzle opening to the turbocharger rotor for effectively changing the cross section of the exhaust flow to the rotor wherein the angle of the guide blades is selectively settable by an adjusting device. The width dimension of the gap between the ends of the guide-blade cascade and the casing wall defining the nozzle is adjustable between a substantially zero gap dimension and a maximum gap dimension.

In an engine braking arrangement for an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger including a turbine arranged in the engine exhaust duct and a compressor driven by the turbine and arranged in the engine intake duct, a brake valve disposed in the exhaust duct upstream of the turbine and a pressure relief line extending from the exhaust duct upstream of the turbine rotor to an area downstream of the turbine and including a stop valve, the stop valve is a rotationally adjustable rotary valve operable by an actuating device depending on the intake pressure in the intake duct.

Engine-braking arrangement for an internal combustion engine with an exhaust-gas turbocharger

A radial-flow exhaust-gas turbocharger turbine is provided with a row of adjustable guide blades which are rotatable via adjusting shafts mounted in a casing. The guide blades are each provided with sealing discs on their longitudinal sides running at right angles to the adjusting-shaft axes. The diameter of the sealing discs is a multiple of the thickness of the guide blades. The sealing discs which are located on the side remote from the adjusting shafts form bearing points for the guide blades in the casing.

Radial-flow exhaust-gas turbocharger turbine

In an exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine comprising a compressor and an exhaust gas turbine mounted on a common shaft, the exhaust gas turbine includes a rotor with radial and semi-axial flow inlet areas and a single-flow duct surrounding the rotor and having port regions in the form of annular nozzle structures with guide vanes disposed adjacent each flow inlet area which are divided from one another by a ring of streamlined shape which is mounted to the guide vanes of one of the adjacent nozzle structures, said guide vanes having at least portions which are movable for adjusting the flow cross-section of the respective annular nozzle structures for controlling the flow through the radial and semi-axial flow inlet areas.

An exhaust gas turbocharger for a supercharged internal combustion engine, in which the exhaust gas turbocharger includes at least one turbine and at least one compressor and the turbine has a turbine casing with a spiral-shaped flow guide duct, a turbine wheel, an inlet end and an outlet end and the compressor includes a compressor casing with a diffuser duct, an impeller, a pressure side and a suction side and the turbine wheel and the compressor impeller are mounted on a common shaft and the turbine casing and the compressor casing, together with a bearing housing, an exhaust gas turbocharger casing and define a gas conduit connection between the inlet end of the turbine and the pressure side of the compressor with at least one control valve and a gas delivery device arranged in the gas conduit connection for controlling the flow of gas between the inlet end of the turbine and the pressure side of the compressor.

Exhaust gas turbocharger for a supercharged internal combustion engine

An exhaust-gas turbocharger for an internal-combustion engine, the exhaust-gas turbine of which comprises a rotor with an at leash partially diagonal throughflow direction and a spiral guide channel surrounding this and having a mouth region in the form of an angular nozzle, and a variable guide blade cascade with guide blades being arranged in the mouth region. In order to design guide blade cascades with a simpler construction than that of known versions, at the same time with an increase in their operational reliability, according to the invention the guide blades are divided in such a way that they form a divided guide blade cascade with a stationary guide-blade cascade part and with a guide-blade cascade part assigned to this and rotatable concentrically relative to the axis of rotation of the rotor.
