A method and a device for winding metal strip onto a mandrel to which the metal strip is fed by a driver encompassing a bottom and a top drive roller in a driver frame. In order to regulate the driver in such a way by measuring the strip tension, the longitudinal tensile strength applied to the metal strip by the driver to control the strip run through the driver is determined by means of a strip tension measuring device which is mounted on the driver frame, in a pivot located shortly behind the bottom drive roller, and can be swiveled into the metal strip from below. The strip tension measuring device is composed of a first lever arm and a second lever arm which is hingedly mounted at the front of the first lever arm and the forward end of which is provided with a roller.

Method and device for winding metal strips onto a coiling mandrel

A method of manufacturing a metal strip includes casting a slab () or preliminary strip (') in a casting machine () and subsequently rolling the cast slab () or preliminary strip (&#x2032;) in at least one rolling train () in a first operating mode with the at least one rolling train being connected with the casting machine for continuously manufacturing the metal strip, and in a second operating mode removing the cast slab () or preliminary strip (&#x2032;) from the main transport line () with a shuttle system arranged between the casting machine () and the at least one rolling train (), storing the removed slab () or preliminary strip (&#x2032;), and subsequently transporting the removed slab () or preliminary strip back into the main transport line, with the removed slab () or preliminary strip (&#x2032;) being heated to a desired temperature or maintained at a desired temperature prior to the transport back into the main transport line () for discontinuously manufacturing the metal strip.
