A sensor for verifying value documents is designed to determine a luminescence characteristic of a value document that is moved past the sensor for verification purposes, and the provision of a velocity correction of the luminescence characteristic of the value document in the sensor, resulting in a distortion of the measured luminescence intensities. A reference sensor is used to determine an average velocity dependency of the luminescence characteristic of a reference medium, said average velocity dependency being averaged over both opposite directions of movement and being used to determine a velocity dependency of a corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic. Said determined velocity dependency is used to determine the corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic, said corrective factor applying to the velocity of the movement of the value document during the verification process, and the luminescence characteristic is then corrected by said corrective factor.

Sensor for verifying the luminescence of value documents

A sensor for verifying value documents and designed to determine the luminescence time constant of a value document that is moved past the sensor for verification purposes, and the provision of a velocity correction of the luminescence time constant of the value document in the sensor. The relative movement between the value document and the sensor causes movement effects, resulting in a distortion of the intensity curve from which the luminescence time constant is derived. The luminescence time constant is corrected using a sensor-specific corrective factor ascertained for the velocity of the movement of the value document during the verification process. For this purpose, different sensor-specific corrective factors are used for different examples of sensors that are nominally identical in design and are part of the same sensor production series.

Sensor for verifying value documents

A sensor and a method for checking value documents are provided, each having a luminescent sheet-like substrate and a luminescent feature applied to a partial surface of the substrate, and to a value document processing apparatus. From the spectral vectors obtained for a plurality of measurement points and characterizing the intensity of the luminescent radiation of the value document detected in at least two spectral ranges, substrate intensity values and feature intensity values are determined, based on which a pure substrate mask is determined, which contains only those measurement points which reliably lie outside the feature. From the spectral vectors of the measurement points contained in the pure substrate mask, a mean substrate vector is determined, based on which corrected substrate intensity values and corrected feature intensity values and/or a spectral signature of the substrate and/or of the feature are or is, respectively, determined from the spectral vectors.

Sensor and method for checking value documents, in particular bank notes, and value document processing apparatus

A method for checking value documents involves the steps of: irradiating, by an excitation device, a first side of the value document with excitation radiation for exciting luminescence of a luminescent substance on the value document, such that the first side is a back side of the value document, capturing luminescence radiation which was excited by excitation of the luminescent substance at a front side of the value document by at least a part of the excitation radiation after transmission through the substrate of the value document and exits the value document at least partly at the back side of the value document after transmission through the value document, by a capture device, and checking the value document in dependence on at least one property of the captured luminescence radiation by means of an evaluation device.

Method and device for examining value documents

A method and a sensor for checking documents are provided in which the same detector is used for a remission measurement and a luminescence measurement of the value document. The remission measurement value being detected during the illumination of the value document with an excitation light used for luminescence excitation, and the luminescence measurement value after switching off the illumination. In order to reduce a distortion of the remission measurement value by the luminescence, a spectral detection filter is incorporated into the detection ray path, which has a transmission of at least 0.5% in the spectral region of the excitation light. The increased transmission of the spectral detection filter achieves that the excitation intensity impinging on the detector far exceeds the luminescence intensity occurring simultaneously with the excitation and thus reduces the mentioned distortion.

Method and sensor for testing documents

A value document has a security marking in the form of at least two luminescing substances which are present in a defined relative quantitative share and are jointly excitable by one excitation pulse. The time courses of the intensities are different and at least one luminescing substance has a non-monoexponential time course. In a method for identifying the security marking, the time course of the total intensity is detected and a linear combination of a formula is adapted including time courses of the intensities of the luminescing substances. The security marking is identified on the basis of the linear coefficients.

The invention relates to a method and a sensor for checking a value document which is moved relative to the sensor. The sensor is arranged to detect the luminescence of the value document in two different spectral regions at the same location of detection simultaneously. The two temporal intensity patterns of the first and second luminescences detected in different spectral regions are evaluated relative to each other. This eliminates the motion effects which distort the two intensity patterns in the same or at least very similar manner.

Sensor and method for checking authenticity of valuable documents with a luminscent security feature

The invention relates to a sensor for checking value documents with a detection device having at least two photodetectors through which the detection light of the value document is detectable in at least two different spectral regions. The detection device contains a collecting optic common to the photodetectors, through which the detection light emitted by the value document in a detection region can be collimated to a light beam. Each of the photodetectors has associated therewith a detector lens which receives a partial light beam of the light beam collimated by the collecting optic and directs it onto the respective photodetector, so that the detection region substantially coincides for the different photodetectors. By the sensor there can be detected different spectral portions of the detection light of the same detection region separately from each other at the same point in time.

Sensor for checking value documents

The invention relates to a checking unit for checking a material web and to a calibrating method for the checking unit. The checking unit is equipped with drive means for transporting the calibration medium past the checking unit in order to detect a multiplicity of measurement values of the calibration medium. The drive means are arranged in the housing of the checking unit in order for the drive means to be protected from moisture or contaminants from the environment. To obtain a transporting of the calibration medium past the checking unit in spite of the arrangement of the drive means in the housing, drive means are employed that are configured for a contactless interaction with the calibration medium and can transport the calibration medium past the checking unit contactlessly. For this purpose there is preferably used a magnetic interaction between the drive means and the calibration medium.

The sensor is arranged to determine the information characterizing the bank notes to be checked and is connected to a bending resistant carrier via a first adhesive layer. Sensor device for the spectrally resolved capture of valuable documents and a corresponding method

A sensor for checking value documents has an illumination device for illuminating a value document, an imaging optic and a detection device. A light source receiver has at least two light sources which have mutually different emission spectra. The illumination device contains a microlens array which contains a multiplicity of microlenses, which with the light source receiver are arranged such that each of the light sources arranged on the light source receiver has exactly one of the microlenses associated therewith.

A spectral sensor for inspecting value documents, includes an illumination device for illuminating the value document, imaging optics and a detection device. The illumination device contains a plurality of light sources with emission spectra that differ from one another, and which are switched on and off in succession, to illuminate a region of the value document with an illumination sequence consisting of light pulses with different emission spectra. One measured value is detected for each of the light pulses to record the spectral intensity distribution of the detected light. The plurality of light sources cover a section of the near infra-red spectral range and/or a section of the visible spectral range in such a way that the spectral sensor can record a spectral intensity distribution in the section of the near infra-red spectral range and/or in the section of the visible spectral range.

Spectral sensor for checking documents of value

A sensor for checking value documents, which has an illumination device for illuminating a value document, an imaging optic and a detection device. The illumination device of the sensor contains a multiplicity of light sources arranged side by side, which have emission spectra that differ from each other, and a microlens array with a multiplicity of microlenses. The microlens array and the light-source receiver are arranged so that when each of the light sources is arranged on the light-source receiver there is associated therewith exactly one of the microlenses. The measuring plane of the sensor is so close to a focal point of the imaging optic that the light of the different light sources emitted by the illumination device is largely imaged onto the same illuminated region of the measuring plane.

There is described a sensor device for spectrally resolved capture of optical detection radiation which emanates from a value document transported through a capture area of the sensor device in a predefined transport direction, comprising a detection device for spectrally resolved detection of the detection radiation in at least one predefined spectral detection range and emission of detection signals which represent at least one, in particular spectral, property of the detected detection radiation, at least one reference radiation device which emits optical reference radiation which is coupled into a detection beam path of the detection device at least partly in dependence on the position of a value document relative to the capture area, and which has a spectrum with a narrow band which is within the predefined spectral detection range, and/or at least one spectrum with an edge which is within the predefined spectral detection range, and a control and evaluation device which is configured for employing the detection signals which represent the property of the reference radiation, for checking and/or for adjusting the detection device and/or in the evaluation of detection signals which represent the at least one property of detection radiation emanating from the value document.
