A fastening tape includes a base, at least one hook, and at least one rib. The at least one hook includes a stem and an engagement portion extending from an upper end of the stem in a longitudinal direction. The stem includes a leading edge and a trailing edge in the longitudinal direction, and a center of the at least one hook is between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The at least one rib is laterally adjacent to the at least one hook, and a center of the at least one rib is offset from the center of the at least one hook in the longitudinal direction towards the leading edge of the stem.

Fastening tape with reinforced hooks

A fastening tape with a flange is provided. The fastening tape includes a body and a plurality of fasteners positioned on the body. The flange is between the plurality of fasteners and an edge of the body. In some cases, the flange increases the 'hook to foam strength' of the fastening tape when the fastening tape is within foam.

Described is a diaper that includes an absorbent core and a chassis surrounding the absorbent core. The chassis may include a first end and a second end, the first end including at least two tabs. Each of the at least two tabs may include a fastening portion with a grip portion and a handle portion. Each grip portion is configured to removably attach to a portion of the second end, and each fastening portion may include at least one cut portion extending through an entire thickness of the fastening portion.

Described is a fastening tape that includes improved attachment systems. To increase the effectiveness of attaching the fastening tape to a component foam, the bottom or underside of the fastening tape includes one or more membranes. The one or more membranes are attached to the bottom surface of the fastening tape at one or more attachment portions. To strengthen the attachment between the fastening tape and the component foam, the membrane may include one or more non-attachment portions in the form of open spaces or pockets into which the component foam may flow when introduced into the mold.

The slide fasteners include box and pin mechanisms integrated with the slide fastener and configured to compress the tape edges and create a water and air tight seal, thus eliminating the need for installing a separate component after the slide fastener has been manufactured.

Various embodiments include a male surface fastener member configured for being molded onto a surface of a foaming resin mold body. The male surface fastener member includes a plurality of male surface fastener strips connected with each other in an end-to-end relationship via a connecting portion that is integrally formed with at least the end portions of each male surface fastener strips. Each male surface fastener strip includes a base material having a first surface from which a plurality of engaging elements extend upwardly and first and second substantially lateral resin intrusion prevention walls that upwardly from the first surface along a width direction of the base material between the first and second longitudinal resin intrusion prevention walls. Each of the lateral resin intrusion prevention walls comprises a plurality of engaging elements that are arranged in series in a width direction of the first surface.

Male surface fastener member for use in a cushion body mold and manufacturing method thereof

Various embodiments of the invention provide an elongated hook and loop fastening strap with a slit defined therein for securing one or more objects together. The fastening strap includes an engaging portion, which is disposed generally above the slit, and an anchor portion, which is disposed generally below the slit. The engaging portion is peeled away from a base to which the anchor portion is attached and is wrapped around the objects to be secured. The engaging portion is then threaded through the slit and engaged onto the base. The engaging shear force between the anchor portion of the strap and the base is sufficient to hold the strap to the base when the engaging portion is peeled away from the base, alleviating the need for external bonding methods for securing the strap to the base and allowing a user to secure the strap using one hand.

Hook and loop fastening strap and assembly

A mold shim or insert is disclosed, which is placed between the surface of a forming mold or mold magnet and a fastener strip that is to be molded into a foam object. The mold shim compensates for the variability of the mold surface and provides a more even surface for the fastener strip to seal against &#x2014;thereby preventing fouling of the strip's fastening elements during the molding process. Alternative embodiments of the invention are not used with a fastener strip, but instead have engaging members on their non-mold-proximate surface for engaging clips or wires which are thereby embedded into the foam object during the molding process.

Molds having a veneered pedestal for forming a foam object

A fastener is disclosed with a fiber-covered element for anchoring the fastener in a finished foam seat cushion, and/or a fiber-covered element for sealing the fastening members of the fastener against fouling during the seat cushion molding process. The fiber-covered elements can additionally be magnetically attractable, and serve to temporarily secure the fastener to the forming mold during the molding process.

Fastener with fiber-covered anchor and sealing elements

The invention is a deep-groove fastener which securely retains a seat cover within the groove of a deeply contoured seat bun. The fastener comprises an elongated body generally concave in cross section and having an interior cavity. A plurality of notched ridges are located on the surface of the interior cavity. The notched ridges serve as fastening elements for engaging loop or other material attached to the underside of a seat cover. Anchor elements are located on the exterior, non-cavity surface of the main body, to aid in anchoring the invention within a foam seat bun. The main body additionally comprises two flange-like sealing legs having a relatively flat bottom surface, to seal the sides of the invention against fouling during the seat bun molding process. Magnetically attractable particles are incorporated into the sealing legs, to hold the invention securely to a magnetized seat bun forming mold.
