In an electronic dazzling element having at least one optical emitter with at least one electronic light-emitter for emitting light pulses, the light-emitter of the at least one optical emitter is controlled in such a way that a light pulse sequence emitted by the light-emitter is adapted to the physiology of the human eye.

An electronic irritation device includes a plurality of electronic irritation signal modules. Each of the modules has at least one emitter for emitting optical or acoustic irritation signals, and additionally a connection device for coupling the plurality of irritation signal modules to one another and an unlocking device for automatically unlocking the connection device in order to decouple the plurality of irritation signal modules from one another and thereby distribute them spatially. Distributing a plurality of irritation signal modules makes it possible to increase the probability of an irritation effect upon deployment of a single irritation device.

Electronic irritation device

An electronic dazzling element has at least one optical emitter for emitting light pulses, which contains an electronic light-emitting device for generating light pulses, and a control device for controlling the light-emitting device of the optical emitter. In order to reduce the brightness reduction of the light pulses as a distance from the dazzling element increases, the optical emitter is configured to emit a collimated light beam. In order to simultaneously achieve the dazzling effect in as large a spatial region as possible, a beam direction of the collimated light beam may be changed.

Electronic dazzling element

To correct the gray levels or pixel intensities of images provided by a digital infrared camera having a two-dimensional array of detector elements with non-sensitive areas therebetween, correction coefficients respectively allocated to the detector elements are stored in a memory of an image processing system. The gray levels of image pixels are corrected by the respective corresponding correction coefficients. The correction coefficients are progressively updated and improved by means of a dynamic correction process. To distinguish stationary features in a scene being viewed from non-uniformities among the detector elements so that such stationary features do not influence the updating of the correction coefficients, the image of the scene incident on the detector is moved relative to the detector, by means of a microscanner deflecting the image beam incident, on the detector. The image is preferably moved to respective positions spaced apart from each other by one half of the physical spacing between adjacent detector elements, and the sequence of movement is selected to minimize the time-spacing between respective image data to be read-out.

Method and apparatus for correcting the gray levels of images of a digital infrared camera

The invention concerns a process to correct the intensity of images from a digital infrared camera with a two-dimensional detector. First a stationary correction is made at a reference source to determine correction coefficients. For the stationary correction, an average intensity characteristic curve U.sub.av (T) is determined for the detector and compared with the intensity characteristic curve U.sub.j (T) for each image point j of the two-dimensional detector to determine correction coefficients for each image point j. A non-linear formulation is used to adapt the intensity characteristic curve U.sub.j (T) of each image point to the average intensity characteristic curve U.sub.av (T). Correction coefficients are stored in a memory to correct the individual intensity U.sub.j of each image point j during operation. During operation, the correction coefficients are improved dynamically. The intensity Uj of an image is recorded and the intensity Uj of the image is filtered by a locally acting adaptive filter. Then the remaining imaging error is determined using intensity Uj of the unfiltered image and intensity F(Uj) of the filtered image and the correction coefficients are improved using the ascertained remaining imaging error.
