A compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein A represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl or aralkyl group, or a group of general formula X--Y--(CH.sub.2)n-- where X represents an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl group, n represents 1 or 2, and Y represents an oxygen atom or a group of general formula --S(O).sub.m - where m represents 0, 1 or 2; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, aralkyl or heteroaralkyl group. Also disclosed are preparative processes, and novel intermediates.

Herbicidal compounds

Novel herbicidal compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein A represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl, aralkyl or heteroaralkyl group; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group; and R.sup.2 represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl, aralkyl or heteroaralkyl group.

Herbicidal [1,2,4] thiadiazoles

The invention pertains to a compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein A represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl or aralkyl group, or a group of general formula X--Y--(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- where X represents an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl group, n represents 1 or 2, and Y represents an oxygen atom or a group of general formula --S(O).sub.m -- where m represents 0, 1 or 2; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, aralkyl or heteroaralkyl group which are useful as herbicides.

Herbicidal oxadiazole carbonamide compounds

Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 have diverse meanings. They are useful as herbicides.
