A sliding bearing for engine applications, in particular a sliding bearing shell for the mounting of the crankshaft or the camshaft or for use as a connecting-rod bearing shell, has a metallic supporting layer and, applied on top of that, a bearing metal layer of aluminum alloy, copper alloy or brass, the bearing metal layer having an 8-20 &#x3bc;m thick PTFB-free PAI-based coating applied on top of it, the PAI-based coating having 5-15% by weight zinc sulphide, 5-15% by weight graphite and 5-15% by weight TiOwith the ratio of zinc sulphide and graphite respectively to TiOin terms of their percentage by weight being 0.6-1.4 and the zinc sulphide and TiObeing present in a particle size of &#x2266;0.7 &#x3bc;m.

Sliding bearing shell for engine applications

The invention relates to a method for the production of a flange sleeve especially for a sliding bearing. A strip of material is cut into lengths corresponding to the later periphery of the flange sleeve. The strip section thus arising is rolled to form a hollow cylindrical sleeve with an open butt joint and a collar is placed around one or two sides. The open butt joint is expanded in the region of the collar to form a V-shaped slit. One or several recesses are made in the region of the later open butt joint on one or two of the longitudinal edges of the strip section.

Flange sleeve and method for the production thereof

A friction bearing composite material comprises a metal base layer, a porous support layer applied thereto, and a low friction layer made from PTFE forming a bearing surface for a bearing partner. The low friction material forming the sliding surface also fills the pores in the support layer and comprises at least 60 vol. % PTFE and 10-25 vol. % zinc sulphide. In order to achieve a high wear resistance with a low coefficient of friction, the low friction material further comprises 1.5-3.5 vol. % carbon fibers and 1-7 vol. % PFA.

Friction bearing composite material with a metal base layer

The invention relates to a method for the production of a flange sleeve () especially for a sliding bearing. A strip of material is cut into lengths corresponding to the later periphery of the flange sleeve. The strip section () thus arising is rolled to form a hollow cylindrical sleeve with an open butt joint () and a collar () is placed around one or two sides. The open butt joint is expanded in the region of the collar to form a V-shaped slit. One or several recesses () are made in the region of the later open butt joint () on one or two of the longitudinal edges () of the strip section.

The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material with a metallic base layer, optionally with a porous support layer applied thereto and a lead-free bearing layer, forming a bearing surface for a bearing partner with a bearing surface material made from plastic with PEEK and a lubricant in the form of zinc sulfide and/or barium sulfate. The plain bearing composite material is characterised in that the bearing material comprises PEEK as matrix-forming plastic component and the lubricant is in the form of 3&#x2013;15 wt. % zinc sulfide and/or barium sulfate and a hardening component in the form of 3&#x2013;15 wt. % titanium dioxide and additionally 5&#x2013;25 wt. % carbon fibers and 5&#x2013;15 wt. % graphite particles.

Plain bearing composite material

The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material provided with a metallic support layer, optionally with a porous carrier layer applied thereto, and with a lead-free sliding layer, which forms a sliding partner and whose sliding layer material is based on plastic. The aim of the invention is to provide a plain bearing composite material that has a long serviceable life when used a high temperatures. To this end the sliding layer material comprises PEEK as a matrix forming plastic constituent, a lubricant provided in the form of zinc sulfide, a hardening constituent provided in the form of titanium dioxide, and additionally comprises carbon fibers. The weight percentage proportion of the lubricant and of the hardening constituent with regard to the mass of the sliding layer material ranges from 5 to 15% by weight, and the lubricant and the hardening constituent are provided in the form of fine particles having a particle size D-value of no greater than 500 nm.

A hinge housing has a flange bearing bush pressed into a transverse bearing opening. A bearing pin is swively inserted in the flange bearing bush. The plain bearing is a ready-to-install unit in that the cylindrical bush part of the flange bearing bush inserted in the bearing opening is deformed radially outwards and radially inwards by axially upsetting the front face and rests on the inner wall of the bearing opening and against the circumferential surface of the bearing pin without play. The front face is recessed behind the surface of the hinge housing part. One side of the plain bearing has an axial bearing element that exteriorly rests radially against the surface area of the hinge housing part surrounding the bearing opening and radially interiorly against an axial step of the bearing pin. The bearing pin is secured in a position in the axial direction.

Plain bearing

A wrapped plain bearing bush having a bush width which varies in the peripheral direction. The bush is characterized in that it is wrapped from a strip-shaped band section which is provided with a variable over the length of the section while still in its flat state and which is wrapped in such a way that the wrapped bush does not need to be subjected to any further cutting of the width; but, instead, has its definitive, variable bush width after wrapping on the bush mold.

Wrapped plain bearing bush

An assembled flange-bearing shell including a half-shell shaped radial bearing part and an axial bearing part which can be fixed on one side in the area of the axial front face of the radial bearing part, or partial ring-wheel shaped axial bearing parts which can be fixed on both sides. Each axial bearing part has inward projecting retaining tongues located around its radius. The retaining tongues can be engaged in retaining recesses in the area of an axial rim section of the radial bearing part. The flange-bearing shell has two retaining tongues on both sides of the vertex which form an undercut. The undercut is engaged from below by a clip of the radial bearing part which lies axially adjacent to each respective open-edged retaining recess. The clip is curved inward in an axial direction from its extension along the periphery into the retaining recess in order to secure the axial bearing part against detachment.

Assembled flange-bearing shell

A wrapped slide bearing bushing consists of a composite bushing material including a metal bearing layer, a porous support layer sintered thereon, and a PTFE-based sliding layer, forming the sliding surface of an associated sliding member, said sliding layer also filling the pores of said support layer, and including at least 60 vol % of PTFE, 15-25 volume percent of a metal filler, preferably lead, and optionally 8-12 volume percent of PVDF. To obtain a low coefficient of friction, only varying in a narrow range over a long time period, said slide bearing bushing is formed such that the sliding layer includes 1-3 volume percent of carbon fibers, said carbon fibers being oriented substantially in a preferred direction relative to said composite bushing material, while the relative movement of said bearing bushing and said associated sliding member is substantially transverse to said preferred direction.

Wrapped slide bearing bushing

A roll-formed sliding surface bearing bushing is circular in an installed state and has a butt joint which extends throughout the width of the bushing and is closed in an installed state. To ensure a backlash-free bearing arrangement, the bushing has on its outside peripheral surface a trapezoidal profile, which includes an angle of 1.degree. to 30.degree. with the plane which contains the longitudinal axis of the bushing.

Roll-formed bushing for sliding surface bearings

In order to improve a bush-like antifriction bearing element for mounting a shaft, a pivot or other revolving component so that penetration of dirt into the bearing as well as out of the bearing, the antifriction bearing element is made pot-shaped so that the end of the antifriction bearing element remote from the end for insertion of the shaft, the pivot or the like, is defined by a bottom portion.

A sliding surface bearing for two components of a planar swivel joint for doors and flaps, which are contacting each other and are connected by a bolt, consists of a sliding material clamped into the bore of a component with press fit. To avoid the abrasion of lacquer a collar bushing is provided on both sides of the bore.

In an apparatus of manufacturing diaphragms, a layer of a difficulty flowable metal powder is applied to a support, a wire net is rolled onto the powder layer and the latter is compacted at the same time and the metal powder is fired at 800.degree. to 1500.degree. C. in an oxidizing atmosphere. In order to impart to the diaphragms a constant thickness, strength and density, the metal powder is uniformly distributed and applied as regards its bulk volume to the support and the powder layer is moved under a distributing roller rotating opposite to the direction in which the powder is fed.

Apparatus for manufacturing diaphragms

A material for composite sliding surface bearings having a plastic sliding layer comprises a metallic backing layer and a sliding layer that is joined to the backing layer and consists of a matrix-forming fluorine-containing polymer, in which a metal powder having a high affinity to fluorine is finely dispersed. In order to reduce the friction torque and the wear rate, the fluorine-containing polymer contains metal fluoride and metal oxyfluoride and consists of monoclinally crystallized PVDF, amorphous PVDF and a novel polymer, which in an X-ray diffractogram prepared by CuK .alpha.-radiation has a sharp intensity peak at a double Bragg angle of 2.theta.=18.07.+-.0.03.degree. and has a melting range of 320.degree. to 350.degree. C. and is free of ortho-rhombically crystallized PVDF.
