An LED based module designed to be easily retrofitted into existing incandescent based light fixtures with minimum or no modification is provided. The LED module of the present disclosure includes a generally cylindrical threaded adapter module including a flat top surface and a conical bottom portion. The bottom portion includes a threaded cavity for receiving a conventional threaded rod of a light fixture which then couples the LED module to the light fixture. The top surface of the LED module is configured to mount a metal core printed circuit board including at least one LED (light emitting diode). Furthermore, the LED module includes at least two channels running therethrough to accommodate wires or conductors from the light fixture to the metal core printed circuit board. The threaded surface of the LED module is configured to accept a conventional shade retainer ring or nut.

A device for enhancing the appearance of a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) and changing the optical properties of light emitted by the CFL is provided. The device for a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) includes a cover configured for obscuring the compact fluorescent lamp; and an attachment mechanism configured for coupling the cover to the compact fluorescent lamp by engaging an inner surface of the compact fluorescent lamp. The attachment mechanism includes at least two resilient fingers for engaging at least two spaced apart inner surfaces of the compact fluorescent lamp.

A light emitting diode (LED) based light engine that can replace a conventional PAR type bulb with no modifications to a host lighting fixture is provided. The light engine includes a thermally conductive housing including a generally cylindrical wall defining a cavity, an outer surface of the wall includes a plurality of axially radiating fins and disposed on an inner surface of the wall is an annular center wall dividing the cavity into a first, upper cavity and a second, lower cavity; a light module including at least one LED is disposed in the first, upper cavity and configured to contact the annular center wall, wherein heat generated by the at least one LED is disposed in the second, lower cavity and electrically coupled to the light module.

LED based light engine

An LED lamp module designed to be easily retrofitted into existing incandescent based light fixtures with minimum modification is provided. The LED lamp module includes a generally circular metal core board including a first surface and a second surface; at least one LED disposed centrally on the first surface of the metal core board; and a flat annular printed circuit board including a current driver circuit for powering the at least one LED, the annular printed circuit board being disposed around the at least one LED and electrically coupled to the at least one LED, wherein the second surface of the metal core board is configured to contact a host fixture and heat generated by the at least one LED is conducted to the host fixture. The LED lamp module uses the host light fixture as a heat sink to transfer and dissipate heat to the external environment.

Cover device for compact fluorescent lamps

A light emitting diode (LED) light bulb configured to replicate the light output of a conventional incandescent light bulb is provided. The LED light bulb includes a base for coupling the bulb to a power source having at least one side wall defining a cavity; a generally rectangular substrate having a first end and a second end, the second end disposed in the cavity and electrically coupled to the base; a plurality of LEDs electrically coupled and disposed on the first end of the substrate, the plurality of LEDS arranged on a front face, back face and top edge of the first end of the substrate to emit light in a spherical output; and a light transmissive cover configured to enclose the plurality of LEDs, the cover being coupled to the base.
